  1. and you've had a busy few months, so you must REALLY pack it in during the quiet times!! (says 2,700+ man :-$)
  2. I'm waiting for my local Zawi Megastore (for it is no longer virgin) to drop it in price a bit, but it's definitely on my list. Of late Neko Case hasn't wandered far from my cd player, and got the last Decemberists album which is great fun, especially the 12 minute early genesis/floyd/deep purpleesque 3 part song The Island-The Landlord's daughter-You'll Not Fear the Drowning
  3. We do love a good build em up and knock em down approach. Yeah agreed, a couple of good performances, but Russia will be very different; pretty hostile atmosphere too, nasty feeling the black players will be in for some abuse from the home crowd. Still, as long as the team has enough hammers, current or ex, we should be fine ;-P
  4. Fair enough and apologies re the [sic]. We do pull legs here, but our wind ups do go for a more measured tone, that's just a fyi. For the record my name is Piers and I am a mockney, so no more inaccurate than your own moniker is it "the gooner". Soooo, Estonia and Russia, wha'dja reckon (see, I went all mockney again ;-))
  5. Cyprus 0 v 2 Wales England 2 v 0 Estonia Greece 1 v 2 Bosnia-Herzegovina Rep of Ireland 1 v 1 Germany Scotland 1 v 0 Ukraine In all fairness Attila is normally spelt with two Ts rather than 2 Ls Is this you then atila? Interesting photographic preoccupations you have there.
  6. I'm fcuked really aren't I. I think I need a more interesting job. Anyone .. anyone ... Bueller?
  7. I agree, there seems to be a unprepossessing steeliness about this newish side and I rather hope it continues, but as you say...England... I've been advocating dropping the stars if they're not performing since Sven's star-struck stupidity (ooh, nice alliteration, you might want to try more of that and less bile Atila[sic]). MacLaren's hand may have been forced, but I hope he's learnt the obvious lessons. Ooh, and it was mine, couldn't resist after saturday's topsy-turvy results!!
  8. forum sponsors http://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/forum/sponsors.php
  9. Didn't we have another thread on this that had a couple of answers (ie it's not necessarily planned to be permanent or something) My blood sugar is plummeting and I'm going a bit odd, so can't be bothered to look until I've had some food
  10. you mean the old 'Definately' thing. Yep, instant banning I say. Not to mention 'appaulled' and 'greated' Does the name MrsHamilton allude to whoring yourself about presumably?
  11. They used to have a big screen on the left, but it went some time after Euro 2004. I always seemed to be stuck behind a pillar anyhow!!
  12. I think the BTP is funded, if not entirely, then substantially by TFL, so it's a fair cop on that one really. Plus the're not just there for the benefit of the revenue protection officers, they're there to make us all a bit safer and more at ease from the thugs that have been known to get on trains and buses. If making it understood that you have to pay your fare and you won't be able to bully the inspectors should they ask you to produce a ticket, then that's not a bad thing as far as I can see.
  13. Their big screen does seem to be suffering a bit at the mo. It's got a sallow colour and seems a bit out of focus now, perhaps it was calibrated to project through a smokey fug. But I can vouch for the EDT as good rugger atmosphere, and there are plasma/LCD tellies in the left and centre bits.
  14. I went about 15 years ago and there was a non stop wailing of ambulance sirens as a backdrop to the genereal hubbub and sound of fireworks. Great fun!!! I have to say the sound of small arms normally starts in september and goes through to crimbo. Been very quiet so far this year.
  15. Nice stuff Asset. If I'm going to cast my mind back to the seventies which are sort of hazy for anything other than sandpits, climbing frames and interminable drives to Madrid in a fiat 127, I can drag up this classic Dr Hook - When you're in love... Tears to the eyes, but perhaps for the wrong reasons ;-)
  16. It's definitely their most listenable since The Bends I'd say, but still with that signature production. TBH the only one I ever really put on of theirs is the first. I can appreciate what they've done, I just don't really enjoy it enough to actually play it.
  17. I'd be curious what the proportion of total posts the, say +800 posters account for. There was a time that Keef and I accounted for 20% of total posts, but I'd say those heady days are long long gone.
  18. A colleague has very kindly dropped the new Radiohead album into my music share. First impressions are it's very Radiohead, but Thom does seem to have cheered up a bit. Incidentally if you pay less/nowt for it the digital download is at a much lower sample rate (160 kbps) than if you fork out for it. Personally I hate compressed music, it sounds really dead, but I can't see myself forking out 40 quid for the CD frankly. And impressions so far are that it's definitely not that good.
  19. LOL! I didn't know my own gifts!!! Right, who's up for some long distance reiki?
  20. "nights out that take 2 days in to recover from" Oh dear that's been going on for ages, in fact can take up to 5 days. Still, I managed to meet a mate in the city last night and we stuck to tea. We did call each other big girls' blouses, but I for one am happier today for it. Yeah that skeletal hand on the shoulder, aaah well. Sorry to hear that Mike, we'll have to go on a few more photo-walks and stop in a few less pubs on the way I reckon.
  21. *In true psychic fashion* The Black Cherry, yes I was picking up on a drinking establishment of some sort, yes that's what I said, I'm picking up black t-shirts, strange chandeliers...
  22. I heartily recommend Ottery st Mary in Devon for bonfire night. Absolutely mental. Quite a long way
  23. "Keef, Jah Lush, Bagpuss and Barry Road" My clairvoyant powers are telling me ... wait wait pick up on the vibrations .... the CPT?
  24. I smoke roll-mops sometimes.
