Maybe her dog died or her boyfriend left her or someone's sick or it's the time of the month or a million other reasons why someone might not be happy and smiling. Everybody has off-days and it's really unfortunate when your job needs you to interact with the public and you happen to feel pants. However sour she might have been, it was about her, not about you. You have my sympathies insofar as it isn't pleasant to get service sans smile, but you need to be a bit understanding sometimes and starting a thread about a waitress being in a bad mood comes off as a bit high-maintenance.

Dan Maitland who gives singing lessons in East Dulwich - [email protected] If you do a search on the forum his name will come up and I think he has plenty of recommendations on here. Also does guitar and sax.

Fly-tipping Homestall Road near Thames Water site
giggirl replied to peleparso's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
Good luck with this. It is soul-destroying to come out of your house and see other people's rubbish dumped. I live in a street that had a serious fly-tipping problem for many years. After several phone calls to the council a sign was erected to say that the site was being recorded on CCTV. Problem disappeared. I know that your problem is more complicated because of the road's ownership, but CCTV is the way to go. -
I've used them for years and they've been OK. My chief reason for using them is that they give lots of cash-back if you go through Quidco (typically 10% on hotels, which is worth having). I had a problem a few years ago and was given the run-around by "customer services",so I went into their UK corporate head office, which is at 42 Earlham Street (just opposite the Donmar Theatre), and insisted they sort it out, which they did. They don't publish that address anywhere and there are no logos outside the building. They really really don't like unhappy customers turning up at there. I politely told their receptionist that I was fed up of being on-hold so please get someone with a pulse and a brain to come and speak to me. My problem disappeared instantly. I do still use them because I think generally they're good, but I don't go on package holidays as a rule. They have recently started to automatically leave the insurance box ticked when you book travel with them. I loathe it when people do that - it's such a scam. You can get a refund but it's hassle.

*WEDDING PHOTOGRAPHY SUMMER SPECIAL!* Local Dulwich Photographer

No idea what this is doing in the lounge but since it is here I have to say that the photographs are very uninspiring. -
Greetings DM. It's been a long time. Yes it made me sad too. I wonder what her children will make of it when they're grown up.

Car crash. I have no words. Holly Willoughby actually looses it. Putting aside that the Katie woman is an insufferable snob and my jaw hit the floor, does anyone agree with her? The "worm" showed 9% for and 91% against. 9% is not insignificant so she has support. Thoughts? BTW, for the forum old timers like myself, I found myself wondering whatever happened to our very own Dulwich Mum?

Yes BB, I was also irritated by the out of context clapping. I put it down to Harry Potter fans who came prepared to clap Daniel Radcliff's every breath. The performances were excellent and I think Daniel Radcliff did a great job, but on the whole it wasn't for me. It was a little too "oyrish". Punchdrunk's Drowned Man is a triumph if you're the sort of person who likes to fall through rabbit-holes. A few people have said things to me like "I'd love to go but I can't find anyone to go with". Doesn't matter - just grab a ticket and go on your own. The Punchdrunk experience is not a shared experience, it's best on your own. So even if you are going with someone be prepared to split up and go off on your own and compare experiences later over a drink. The beauty of Punchdrunk is that no two people have the same experience.

It was great stuff. Usually programmes like that are talking heads with journalists. I couldn't give a stuff what journalists think about anything! This was insightful interviews with musicians and producers and Bowie himself.

Hey Quids, I think I saw you in an ice-cream parlour Drinking milk shakes cold and long. Thanks for the tip. Watched the programme last night. Px

If you aren't sure it's for you then why not try a business lodger who would rent from, say, Sunday night to Friday morning, giving you the weekends to yourself. I think that above all a lodger needs to feel welcome and not just a source of extra revenue.

Thank you for posting the update. I'm very pleased for you.

Bob - you took the words right out of my mouth. I pity the kids that have such sanctimonious parents. Somebody asks a question and she gets shut down. Making somebody else "wrong" so that you can bask in the glory of making yourself "right" is is just another form of ignorance.

I'm genius level high-scorer. Would have been higher if the world map wasn't so vague. My geography teacher would be proud.

What's a glove got to do with it?

He's OK. He's done with the forum though. I'm sure he has his reasons. Mott the Hoople at the O2 somehow seems wrong. Actually it's wrong for most bands come to think of it.

That doesn't fly today. It's about reconfiguring existing space for modern living. -
