  1. Brendan you are fabulous! V Sorry OP but it will be years before your brain unscrambles the drink/smoke combo thing. It gets a lot easier though. Well done.
  2. Ryanair are the pits and would charge for the air you breathe if they could get away with it. Horrible airline - best avoided. Personally I'm stil reeling from the ?3.75 for the small bottle of water in the minibar of my room at the Brighton Metrople this weekend. FFS - it's just water.
  3. It has no soul. You could be anywhere. Didn't like.
  4. Oh - another thing WoD - the helicopter rides are expensive but really worth it and I have my helicopter ride somewhere on CD. If you want to borrow the CD and check it out for yourself you can determine for yourself whether it's worth the $$$$. Definitely don't do the coach tours - I've only ever heard bad things. People who don't want to spend the $$$ on the flights do the coach tours and spend all day on the road getting there and back and end up disappointed.
  5. I have been to Vegas for Christmas/New Years and there is plenty to do. You don't have to be over 21 to go into a casino in Vegas but you do need to be 21 to gamble. Nobody will stop him going in, seeing the shows, eating in the restaurants, checking out the action etc. But he can't sit down at the tables. People watching is excellent though so he will enjoy. I have stayed at the Wynn (which I didn't like very much) and have stayed at the Landmark MGM (which is fabulous). The Landmark MGM is located at the back of the MGM Grand. Not much at the Landmark for kids though so I would give the Belagio a try (always wanted to stay there). Definitely take a helicopter ride over the Hoover Dam and Grand Canyon (do not take a bus tour - it's too far to go). That's something you'll both remember for the rest of your lives. Don't take the early trip - take the slightly later one as the helicopter will take you back to McLaren via the Strip which will be all lit up at night. Go to one of the Cirque du Soleil shows - my favourite is O (at the Belagio) but Ka (at the MGM) is also good. Take the tour of the Neon Graveyard. This place is run by volunteers and you need to contact them to book in as the tours are very small and don't run often. It's really good. Vegas is a town with no history because when the hotels start to look old they tear them down and start again. The Neon Graveyard is the only place in Vegas with anything old in it - you get to see all the original old Vegas signs. Plus, they found a dead body there once in CSI. I can't recommend it highly enough.
  6. Shark infested waters of East Dulwich! Don't make me laugh; I'll have the jaws theme circling round my head as I'm tripping out of G&B later tonight. Incidentally, Elvis used to eat a lot of squirrel when he was a boy. That's my erudite contribution. I wouldn't touch them though; they look shifty.
  7. What have you been smokin' Hooch?
  8. No, have never cheated. I've been on the receiving end though. More than enough heartache.
  9. Sorry honey - we're not in Kansas any more - it's a whole ?60 squid. Go for it aaaaaaaarrrrrrrrrrgggggghhhhhhhhh
  10. Today is the second day this week someone has pointed out that I have holes in my sweater. So that's two that the moths have had and I'm afraid to think what else they've eaten. I'm ordering that spray today.
  11. What Keef said - with knobs on. If it is a wind up then I'm really underwhelmed.

  13. Hooch, as the great Nigel Tufnel has informed us, "you can't really dust for vomit". I know you know that.

    They lie!!

Ouch. ClareC - that truly sucks honey but it doesn't surprise me. You're entitled to grumble a bit but then move on.
  15. Saw this at the IMAX last night. It's worth making the effort to see it on the big big big screen for the wow factor. At the beginnong of the second dream within a dream I lost the plot and the will to live. I think I was thinking too hard because when I gave up on it I think I understood it more.
  16. Thank you Sue - that was helpful. I'll order some spray. I also have those paper sheets - mine come in long strips which you can trim if you want to. I have masses of them all over the place. At least one per drawer. They last for up to a year. On a general note regarding buying anti-moth products - they all have a shelf life so be sure to buy from an outlet which hasn't had them sitting on the shelf for a lifetime. I would imagine you're safe buying from anywhere in ED because I think any shop selling anti-moth products in ED must do a roaring trade. It's also OK to buy online from specialist sites.
  17. Having lots of money will not make you happy but it will allow you to be unhappy in more comfort, and there is something to be said for that.
  18. Which chemicals Sue. Please be specific. The fuck ers have been at my cashmere again. Another one bites the dust.
  19. Ooohhh Steve that's worth considering. I've been to Brighton a zillion times and never been inside the Pavilion. I'm guessing it's a poor man's Versailles? Would that be a good guess?
  20. I'm in Brighton with my bitches this weekend. Staying at the Metropole. Any fabulous suggestions? I'm told the drag at Legends Hotel is worth catching. I'm totally up for eyeballing something glamorous in a frock so that's a possibility. I'm bringing my walking shoes so I can walk myself bug-eyed and burn off the necessary calories to warrant a plate of fish and chips. Otherwise I'm devoid of any ideas. Suggestions welcome.
  21. Hello, Tell me more about the Saturday morning discussion class as I might be interested. Depends on time though - I do another class on Saturday mornings. Also, how basic is beginners? Be honest. Thank you. Pxx
  22. No I'm Spartacus (in a fetching pair of silver gladiators Rosie)
  23. Nah. I think that's tosh Cassius. Bring on the constant happiness. I've had my pain so bring on the happiness and the dancing girls.
