  1. Pop them in the freezer compartment and the whole thing should come off in one piece.
  2. If Alice in Wonderland is at the Imax I'll definitely go and see it. Yes I know it's not perfect but I'm a bit of a child about these things so I sit in my seat going "oohhh" and "ahhhh" like some 4 year old. If anyone out there needs their 4 year old taking to a 3D film and they can't be arsed to take them then I am your woman.
  3. I went to see Avatar solely for the special effects and I wasn't disappointed. I wasn't that interested in the plot, which is just as well. One of the trailers was for Tim Burton's 3D Alice in Wonderland with Johnny Depp as the Hatter - that looks like a magnificent "must see".

That takes a whole full minute and THEN it's OK to switch off.

  7. Hey, where did you get that picture of my bedroom?
  8. New Labour has put civil liberties in this country back a hundred years. Look at the BNP - it's depressing to any sane person that they are out there doing what they do but I don't want to live somewhere where whole groups of people are legally banned/silenced. As the Godfather said "keep your friends close and your enemies closer". It won't do any good to drive them further underground.

Absolutely. I think the success of JK Rowling's books has done much to put books in the hands of those that did very little reading until she came along. You can't fault that. She got very lucky though - I only read one and it wasn't the best written children's book I've ever read.

Positive thinking, setting things in motion - that sort of thing.
  11. Stella McCartney
  12. It is all highly subjective because I personally believe that JK Rowling is someone who just got lucky. And don't get me started on Dan Brown. I wouldn't exactly say that they don't work hard for their money but, let me put it this way, they've made a little bit of talent go a long way and they've had some major lucky breaks. We could all draw up a list of people who we don't think deserve their dosh - there's an idea for a new thread. What's the should be the criteria for getting on the list though? Having little or no talent? Not working hard enough?
  13. Calm yourself Daizie. I myself ventured out in a pair of heels today. Daring or what? Only an uber cautious 2 and 3/4 inches but still. If the BBC 5 day forecast got it wrong then it's an expensive taxi home for me.
  14. Atila, I've never been on the football thead (amongst others) so if you've got history on other theads then I really wouldn't know - I based my post on this thead alone so any past scraps have gone under my radar. I am truly sorry if you have been unfairly treated though. If you think you're being baited then don't take the bait - ignore them - it will really wind them up. I have a really lovely friend whom I met on the forum, who is having a really hard time right now. She gave me (and herself) some really good advice last year, she said "to take the fight out of the fight". Brilliant stuff. It's not about turning the other cheek - it's different. If someone means you harm nothing will piss them off more than you refusing to take their malicious bait (in whatever form that bait takes). You win. End of.
  15. John I Love You - Sinead O'Connor
  16. John Henry - Springsteen (Seeger Sessions)
  17. Henry Lee - Nick Cave & Bad Seeds (+ Polly Harvey?)
  18. He's dead. You can't be rich when you're dead. There are no pockets in a shroud. I enjoyed Robert Downey Jnr playing Chaplin though - scrummy. I think we can all agree that there are a lot of people out there with little or no talent who are as rich as God and most undeserving of it. It sucks.
  19. White City - The Pogues
  20. Won't get fooled again
  21. There used to be a Dr Who who dressed like that once upon a time.
  22. Shame on you Atila; you've abused this thread and poured bile upon anyone disagreeing with you. Whatever motivates you to want to attack people is your business, but I think other forum-users should be able to look at a thread without enduring such vitriolic and aggressive posts. I?m singling out this post for special mention because I find it particularly vile: Fcuk me you're easily pleased. You must me one of those people that pisses on homeless people sleeping in doorways. That is really nasty to read. And then earlier today you posted this: I've got to chuckle at many of the posters on here, if you have the audacity to challenge their views they get all self righteous. That made me sad. Is that how you see things? If only you were challenging people?s views then that might be something worth reading but you aren?t you?re just having a big hissy fit. I don?t know you ? maybe you have something to say that would be good to hear. Here?s the problem ? YOU ARE PASSIONATE BUT YOU DO NOT PERSUADE. This, of course, is just my opinion. I have my opinion, you have yours; that's how the forum works. I can attempt to influence your opinion; you can attempt the influence mine - that is the joy of the forum. Except there is no joy on this thread.
  23. Sabrina - you're missing the point if you think that fashion is about impressing strangers. I dress for myself. I think everyone should dress for themselves. If you should happen to impress a stranger in the process then more power to you.
  24. Now this makes me laugh. It's the dent left in the wall that gets me... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zRoEkd4Shz4
  25. I like him. I know he's annoying and puffed up and should get a slap sometimes but I think he will leave a hole in the schedule. Bring back Mrs Merton.
