My daughter won't go in there anymore as apparently it smells so bad.

Yep. Always happens.

This is why we can't have nice things.

From the Dulwich Festival website: Teddy bears picnic with funfair at Dulwich park on 11th May. Giant Teddy Bears’ Picnic - Dulwich Festival Goose Green fair is on 18th May. Goose Green Fair - Dulwich Festival But no sign of the usual Dulwich Park Fair this year!

They were definitely taking cards last year - The only places I can think of they are cash only are Hong Hong on Grove Vale and Sam's Kebabs on Bellenden 🙂 Back to Il Mirto - Apparently the signage has gone up - Norberts Rotisserie!

can old cd's and cases go in the recycling bin?
Vik replied to mayfly's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
No, you could take them to the recycling centre or a charity shop though. -
Do you mean what's left of the hospital building? If so, yes it will be part of the school.

Anyone know what's going on with Il Mirto on Melbourne Grove? Not sure if they are redecorating or closed down as the dining area is being ripped out. I've only passed in the evening when no one is around so haven't been able to ask.

Oh dear. 1. "...me and my children love this shop" - That's because you work there. 2. "...a member of staff on she hilarious & always makes us laugh think her name Sarah" - That's you. You are Sarah. 3. "...not forgetting Jo so helpful" - Would that be Joanne Coe? I'll hazard a guess that she is your sister or mother as you both work there and have the same surname. You really have to get up much earlier to pull the wool over the eyes of this group, we've seen at all before,

I think so too, and looking for info now as trying to build a case against the 2 arrested.

Testing... Looks like i'm still here.

Did you get your council tax bill for 2022 - 2023 today?
Vik replied to trinidad's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
Got our bill last week - about ?10 extra per month, which could be worse I guess. Still a little bitter about the cost of living rebate, just because I live in a Band E property, really does not mean I can afford the rise in the cost of living. My electricity bills like many other will still be going through the roof. Who decided that having a Band E house makes you rich? -

Thanks all. Somewhere quiet for the older ones to study whilst that can.

Anyone know if local libraries still open at present?

Ignore Snoopy17, It's not the first time s/he has tried blaming the victim of crime on here. There is CCTV in the car park, it may be worth contacting Sainsburys or checking with the nursery. I live on the route you mentioned and will keep an eye out, they could also have got on a P13?

ED - ?100 for a kids birthday cake? REALLY?
Vik replied to Angelina's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
> If a working mum needs some help, so what? Exactly - So one working mum should not be so hard on what could be another working parent for charging what they charge for their time/craft. I'm a working mum - I don't have much time these days to bake and decorate cakes, so I buy from the supermarket. I have looked at the price of handmade cakes, it's a luxury that I cannot afford but I can see why they cost what they do. -
I genuinely hardly have a problem with any of the staff in there - I find them mostly helpful and friendly. There are a few grumpier ones who I tend to avoid. I do find though that it's really obvious when they are due a 'store visit' as the shelves are all full and neat, It was the same when I worked for Woolworths many years ago, the shop always looked at its best when management were coming to visit - it shouldn't be this way, it should be fully stocked for the customers, not just for when someone from Head Office is coming to look around. Another thing I have noticed is that since the staffing restructure last year, there seem to be a lot of junior management stacking shelves from roll cages - the other day, 12 of them were stocking bakery at the same time, all in suits and with around 6 cages out in one aisle..?

Support our own East Dulwich tree sellers

Well said, I stopped buying trees at the EDT years ago as found the pricing inconsistent and the sellers a little rude and pushy. We were priced out of buying real trees a few years back when Plantnation closed down (Could get a 7ft delivered for ?30-40!) so makes no difference to us - good luck to them all, a little competition may stop the local sellers becoming complacent. That said - As I've said above - I do take some issue with the use of public land but it is only for a month.
