  1. The 2 women who often go through the bins on our road only ever take clothes.

My first reaction to that post was exactly the same as yours... Then I realised this thread was started a couple of days after the Grenfell fire.
  3. No personal experience, but know of one family very happy with the school who have been there since the start.
  4. Possibly the same one we can hear on Ivanhoe Road New Girl? Sounds like it's coming from Copleston Road? It's now 1.50am and the music is still loud, there's a woman with an incredibly loud laugh and an man shouting along with the music... Not 100% sure where it's coming from either though.
  5. Hospitals won't take soft toys, only toys which can be wiped clean.
  6. Bessemer Grange. A genuinely lovely school, my oldest will be starting year 6 in September, very close to Red Post Hill.
  7. We have a daily bin searcher, she seems to favour our bin over others in the road. I'll pop out and send her down to yours if you're feeling left out.
  8. I don't have knowledge of the trees but the park is not very old at all, it was created at the same time Sainsburys was built in the early 1990's, before that, all of the land was sports fields, so I suspect Blackcurrant is correct in that they were put in for the ornamental value.
  9. For cods sake, all these puns are giving me a haddock...

Surely I'm not the only one to find > this a really offensive comment? I don't find it offensive at all (lived locally my whole life). If you're looking for somewhere like John Lewis and get sent to the Old Kent Road (B&Q, McD's, Asda etc) you're going to be disappointed aren't you? I find OKR 'urg' even though I know it well!
  11. She was found safe yesterday.
  12. No spoilers Otta, all complete speculation! I did love Jamie's timing on the "Sir... My name's Jamie" line!
  13. I've not seen Broadchurch as not a fan of David Tennant but after seeing clips of Line of Duty on Gogglebox, decided to catch up on this series and I am hooked, great acting all around, edge of seat stuff! Will be watching the earlier series when this one finished. Oh and for the record - I think Balaclava Man is Nick Huntley's solicitor friend!
  14. The road's been open since around 1.30. TFL are also saying it was closed due to a traffic collision!

    WESTMINSTER ATTACT

Kings A&E was never closed, they stated emergencies only - which is what is should be used for anyway!
  17. No, that was this: Saturday 18 March‪: Southwark Presents Spring Waking 6pm ? 7.15pm. Start from East Dulwich Community Centre. As winter turns into spring and darkness turns into light, we celebrate a time of change and transformation. Spring Waking, commissioned by Southwark Council, is a new dazzling event for East Dulwich. Emergency Exit Arts and Output Arts are very excited to be creating this outdoor show with support through GfA. Spring Waking will feature a community procession led by a giant illuminated butterfly and moth and a fantastic light-filled finale show with a specially composed song cycle from singer and musician, Bishi. To join the parade with your own personalised butterfly or moth please check the Emergency Exit Arts website for details of public workshops www.eea.org.uk www.outputarts.com (From arounddulwich.co.uk)
  18. No! That's really sad, one of my fave ED shops, lovely people.
  19. Not been up since Saturday, is the work finished now? Thanks.
  20. I've seen many pics of Holdrens. I'm only old enough to remember 80's Rye Lane but the shops I recall are: WHSmith Zodiacs toy shop (my fave!) BHS Woolworths M&S C&A Broomfields bakers The huge toy stall in the indooor market Terry's All Gold (where I got my ears pierced) Ravels Stead & Simpson Clarks Sainsburys (The newer one where the cinema is now Currys Dixon THE LEB Safeway
  21. The Rye Lane one has gone and the one in Camberwell closed for a (MUCH needed) refurb until 14/1. If you drive or don't mind the walk, the Crosswaite Avenue sub Post Office is always quiet and the staff very helpful.
  22. Saturday 10th according to their website, can't see the time though.
  23. I'm not entirely sure to be honest, sorry! I suspect I called the main switchboard number and asked for refuse. I don't know if the elderly bit was correct or she was just saying that to fob me off, surely though, if you're paying for the service, you should get the same help no matter how old you are!
  24. The whole 'drop down list' thing is a nightmare. You used to be able to just list the items, now you have to pick from the list which is made of a seemingly random selection of possible items. I have items that aren't on the list, I have tried calling to ask what to do but have been told that it HAS to be done online unless I am elderly?!
