And if the pink bus wasn't bad enough, the fact that it filled with 'kitchen tables' pretty much completes the dreadful picture. Hey, why not stick a few ironing boards in a well? With a few fruit-based drinks on hand. Mind you, in a neat attempt to offend everyone, apparently Labour had a long discussion as to whether they would even allow a man to drive the bus.
-
Even the Guardian have dubbed it the 'Barbie Bus' and when the Guardian criticises Labour, you know they've done something wrong. As I said on another thread, I can't believe someone with Mad Hattie's experience signed off on this amazingly dumb idea.

Karlsson is all makeup and hair. Laure by a country kilometre.

Just caught up on iPlayer in time for the end this weekend. I completely missed series 1-4, but I see s4 is on Netflix, so I suspect that will be next. Exceptional TV. And Laure is just hot.

With 'pink kitchen tables' too! Harman would have been the first to climb all over the Tories if they tried a stunt like this. I can't believe someone of her political experience can't see just how bad an idea this is. ETA: A comment on the Guardian report made me laugh: "As a woman I am naturally pulled to garish pink hues. Also, if things are pink then i know they are about women - otherwise I get confused and read about politics and science. Pink helps to signpost me to wimmin's things; like if I see a pink screwdriver I know it's one I can use. Thanks Labour."

I can see why you read it that way, DC - it's a terribly written article. But the case has yet to go before a Employment Tribunal and no ruling has yet been made. If he had won a tribunal case and LU refused to reinstate him, surely that is against the law anyway?

Looks like for all their brave election words, Syriza have realised that the only way they are going to move forward is to agree roughly the same deal with the Troika, but call it something different. It's like, 'Rejoice! We have told the Troika that they are not going to roger us senseless anymore! After careful negotiation, we are now entering an exciting new programme of exuberant sphincter penetration..."

Well, if he was a drunken twat then the RMT would have backed him. http://www.standard.co.uk/news/transport/london-tube-strike-millions-face-disruption-in-latest-walkout-over-driver-who-failed-breath-test-10036316.html If the RMT think he was unlawfully dismissed, take LU to a tribunal or court. Don't bloody well inconvenience the rest of us.

There is no tax to be paid on releasing equity, be the house you primary residence or otherwise. You will need to pay stamp duty on the new house plus, as Indiepanda say, declare the rental income (plus keep tabs on all expenditure as you can claim against them). If you are worried, ask a tax advisor. I found Ray Coman at Coman & Co on Upland Road incredibly helpful.

CCTV counts as data, so he could ask for a DPA data access request.

50!!!! Erm... Um... Sorry. As you were.

I thought that the question was quite fair - George Galloway should be asked to explain some of his behaviour and comments. But, yes. Dimbleby lost complete control of the audience, and really made a rather poor effort to regain control. A good few of them should have been unceremoniously turfed out. If you ask a question, the person being asked should have every opportunity to respond. Having said that, the QT audience is quite obviously stuffed to the rafters of party apparatchiks and lobbyists every week, sent in with pre-prepared, pre-approved questions. I think very few are true average members of the public.

Well, that degenerated pretty quickly, didn't it?

Blah Blah Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > Cycles hitting pedestrians are rare and that is fact too. 'Rare' is subjective - calling it a 'fact' is pretty brave. Given the sheer number of pedestrians and cars in London, you could argue that cars hitting pedestrians is 'rare' as well. Doesn't mean that positive steps to reduce both cars and cycles causing pedestrian deaths and injuries shouldn't be taken.

That's a little harsh - Klass is a an successful ex-pop star and classically trained musician with a few albums to her name. She's hardly in the same cesspit as the Paris Hiltons/Kardasians/Calum Bests of this world.

By your own words quoted in my last post, the police and the church seem to have dealt with this very efficiently, albeit quietly. You haven't actually said the church did anything amiss so far (apart from hiring him, which seems to be without knowledge of this issue), only that you (and others) were not kept fully informed along the way. Given the way some people react (and have reacted) I really don't blame the church for quietly moving him away from anywhere he could do harm whilst the wheels of justice sprang into action. I think if the congregation did get together to try and regroup and move forward that would be a good thing, but only if it was done positively. But so far I have seen very little positiveness. If you can change that, more power to your elbow.

In your own words, "Pitchforks and waving torches may have been appropriate in this case", so don't blame me for you sounding like a vigilante. You also wrote: ... and ... What more, exactly, do you want? And why?

je-suis-concerned Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > It is a little strange how you seem comfortable with vicars that view abusive pictures of children in our community. No, I'm uncomfortable with self-appointed pseudo-vigilantes traipsing around thinking they are judge, jury and, quite possibly, executioner. > He committed at crime at the point he viewed these films..... it doesn't need a legal system to prove this. [...] Pitchforks and waving torches may have been appropriate in this case. My case rests, m'lud. People like you are pretty much the exact reason why this sort of stuff is kept quiet until trials begin. Frankly, I fear for any paediatricians working in the area.

Can I remind you that people are innocent until proven guilty? It looks like the church put the necessary conditions in place to keep children safeguarded. Judging from the posts on this thread, anything else would have risked the locals waving torches and pitchforks at dawn.
