  1. I can't say I've ever been part of a religious (or any other) cult, but surely, after being given the orders "you are going to storm a school, kill all the children and then commit suicide" your last remaining functional brain cell would kick in and try to revive your lost humanity?

No, foxy - your 'local' IP is not visible to the wider internet. The 'public' IP (actually your router's IP address) is what you show to the world and what is used to block you.

At least that has some connection with Christmas. I'd have even been OK if they'd have called it "Stay For Christmas Day". But nothing. Not even a mention of snow. Yet every bloody Christmas it gets dragged out.
  4. East 17 - Stay Another Day. IT IS NOT A BLOODY CHRISTMAS SONG. A couple of bells at the end of a song does not a Christmas song make. The song is about as Christmassy as an Easter egg.
  5. Breasts don't normally terrify men - indeed quite the opposite. If they are terrifying people, I doubt they'll help you get the job. Have you considered putting on a brief puppet show or a magic act?
  6. [cheekybugger] Well, you could have capitalised "ED"... [/cheekybugger]

The SNP has long had a convention that they will not vote in Westminster on issues that only affect England. That could leave Labour with a coalition majority on UK issues, but a minority on English issues. The Lib Dems would be needed as well. They should still have about 20 MPs.

  11. I filed it under 'sarcasm'.
  12. That was the best result. Cowell is no mug - Fleur had a career, whatever happened. Ben winning means he might just get a break as well. But Fleur was miles and miles the better performer.

Surely winning the 'Unsung Hero' award immediately disqualifies you from said award?

I reckon McIlroy will win it, but I have to say I am in complete awe of the blind downhill skier. I can't imagine anything more terrifying.
  15. I don't understand that one, ZT.
  16. I assumed the poster JUST LIKED SHOUTING "DOG POO!" AT PEOPLE.
  17. If she's back tomorrow I hope Ben royally takes the piss out of her for her comments about sickness being no excuse.

No offence, but providing I am just walking along normally minding my own business, I don't frankly care if someone finds me threatening just because I am male. Their problem not mine. If someone said they felt threatened because there was a black person walking on the same side of the street as them, would your judgement would be rather different? Would you expect said black person to cross the road to allay such fears?

'Immigrant' should be just that - on who has immigrated. Second or third generation are not immigrants, they are Brits. 'Immigrant' is not analogous to 'non-white' anyway. Although I am mixed-race, I look (and mostly identify as) white and I'm an immigrant. And where I live there are quite a few immigrant Poles.

While the OP did exactly the right thing, lest not get the torches and pitchforks out just yet. We've not actually established that the person in question was actually doing anything amiss.
  21. Surely the obvious reasoning is that since immigrants are less likely to vote UKIP, areas with higher immigrant percentages are also less likely to vote UKIP?
  22. To be fair, pez, there is a lot of dodgy 'charity' efforts going on. Those plastic bags shoved through your letter box every other day for a start. I can see why people were wary. But it's good to see this one is legit.
  23. It always seems to me he is more loquacious than erudite.
  24. Someone in the Guardian comments called him "Fey Guevara". I laughed.
