  2. I bought a rather fetching door stop today. Brass, it was.

Not a mandate, but another indicator as to why Labour have been losing the traditional 'Labour' working class vote over the last decade - first to the BNP and more recently to UKIP.

  6. I was OK until I got to "Friday Night Special". That phrase alone had me in hysterics.
  7. aquarius moon Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > Quorn meat-free bacon rashers from Sainsbury's :) That might look like bacon, AM, but it's just not the same. Ditto with the abominable turkey 'bacon' from Bernard Matthews.
  8. Otta Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > I read that as bacon balaclava. Well, Lady Gaga had a meat dress, so why not?
  9. Agree with Mick Mac. All these media 'me too' accusations aren't justice. Take him to court. Mind you, Cosby could take them to court as well with a slander writ, I suppose.
  10. ruffers Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > As Jeremy said Android is great, but simply not as stable or user friendly. Granted that the apps on Android are less well policed, but I doubt Grandpa is going to go wild in the Apps Store.
  11. Like Otta, I was never a fan, but you were both definitely local characters. And the world needs characters. RIP.

That would be the Tesco "Hudl", which runs Android. The new one is just out which is a very decent tablet for the price, but only has an 8.3" screen, so not the biggest on the market. Maybe look at an 10.5" for better readability. Basically, most tablets run Android except iPads, which run iOS. Both of the operating systems are similar in terms of usability. If you can get someone to set it up (i.e. remove all unnecessary apps and load up just the ones he wants) he should be OK. No tablet is completely foolproof, though, so expect some calls for assistance.
  13. Click on your own name in the post above, and then click on "View all posts by richardcobelli". You only have five posts, so it shouldn't be hard to find.

Sorry..... The phrase is "shoo-in". James would need a double-digit swing from Labour to take the seat. I think that will be difficult - and I'm (generally) a LibDem voter. He'll probably get good support from the East Dulwich area, which will help, but the constituency is much bigger than that. The Tory candidate needs a slightly bigger swing to take the seat.
  15. Apparently next week is "Elton John vs Whitney Huston". I want to see Stevi singing while wearing a crap wig and sitting in a bathtub. I'd actually pay the ?1.50 to vote for that.

I think it's the "no one must say anything that even sounds like it criticises cyclists, ever" rule.
  17. Goodness me - I go away for the weekend and it all kicks off! Anyway, don't flounce out RPC, I quite enjoy your posts.
  18. I'm not saying they are not relevant to an election - I am saying they are outside the requested parameters of the conversation. But you are trying to be a smart-arse by trying to frame non-local issues as 'local'.
  19. Blah Blah Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > Loz, stop it. You first. You were asked (nicely) by the admin to stick to local questions and you ignored them. If I was admin I'd have zapped your posts in a millisecond. And banned you from the thread. And I hope he/she does. It is the least you deserve.
  20. Administrator Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > Odds-on that it will get Lounged soon Personally, I'd rather you keep it there and use a heavy hand to remove any posts that don't meet the criteria. Things like that (from whatever political party/candidate) are just what the forum should encourage, IMHO.
  21. Blah Blah - Stop being a meathead. Admin has set the terms of the debate.
  22. Try PMing 'Administrator'.
  23. Mostly, the world doesn't care for quality. They want cheap. Britain, with its wage levels, cannot compete on that business paradigm. Blame Maggie if you like, but it was above and beyond even her changes.
  24. bermygirl31 Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > No - strict vegans do not eat honey. It's for the > same reason they don't drink milk. Veganism - it's just not the land of milk and honey you'd hope for.
