  1. Try the TFL journey planner - it will tell you the quickest route and what combination of transport/walking you need. http://journeyplanner.tfl.gov.uk/
  2. Whilst I don't have a problem with either Amazon or Argos, for someone that would buy something sight unseen with zero research they are not going to be much better, are they?
  3. It should be a Java update check, but misbehaving versions can possibly be a virus. I once picked up a virus that kept putting the Flash upgrade box up. That was a fun one to clear off. If you aren't comfortable with finding/clearing viruses, shut the laptop down immediately and seek professional advice. Certainly do not log into any sites, especially financial and email.
  4. So if we have too many people... 1) Immediately stop all child support benefits. 2) Tax heavily all families with more than one child. How's that Tarot?
  5. Blimey, you mangled that joke, Tarot.
  6. Don't forget to kick a cat on the way there, Rosie.

  8. You really need to look at how you are using gas. If you have a boiler/tank, it's not how many showers you have but how long you have the boiler timer set for. Also, do you have gas powered central heating - how long is that on for?? Shortening the time the boiler is on will save money. Turning the room thermostat down 1 or 2 degrees will save money. Have you made sure your central heating timer is off for the summer months?

He bought it in a shop. Sol might indicate otherwise, but I would be surprised if he had no opportunity to inspect the item in question.
  10. As long as she doesn't bring Huguenot back to East Dulwich...!
  11. I don't rate Pantswetter, either. Yesterday was the first decent knock I've seen from him for ages. I'd give Bairstow the gloves and get a better batsman in.
  12. Morgan is class (at the shorter forms, anyway), but Buttler? We'll see - one swallow does not a summer make. I wouldn't get your hopes up based on what was essentially 8 balls.

  14. It's a variation on the 'Dilscoop', though Dilshan's idea was to flick it over the keeper's head. It's illegal to station a fielder behind the keeper, so Dilshan figured that was probably the best place to hit the ball! Buttler is known to play this shot, so there should have been a fine leg in place. The Saffers hadn't done their homework. Amazing hitting though.
  15. Check the car park for any CCTV cameras. If there looks like there was coverage check with the company for the footage. If they refuse you can make a request under the Data Protection Act.
  16. Have a look at the Nexus 7 (which runs Android OS 4.1) or even the finally-released-in-the-UK Kindle Fire.
  17. Given that eating carnivorous isn't such a good idea then, quite obviously, WE EAT THE VEGGIES!!

The only group ever to write a song about korfball.
  19. Have you tried Paine and Hunter on LL? They are really good and should be able help you (and will cost a lot less that ?80 for an eye exam). But yes, they have improved. Newer ones let a lot more oxygen through and therefore irritates the eye less.
  20. Especially cats. Cat rugs for all.
  21. Well, I believe Currys and Dixons are rubbish, but I also suspect that you weren't entitled to a refund. Some stores may have offered you one in goodwill, but legally you are on shaky ground.
  22. I believe that animals should be used in circuses!!
  23. I thought this was going to be another Sly and Reggie thread.
  24. It's gone down. It went down on the 3 Sep by a fiver. I had to go for the old fee as I needed my new passport pronto. On the upside, perhaps I hit a quiet time whilst everyone waited for the fee to drop.
  25. Currys and Dixon have but one use. Checking out goods that you then go home and order online...
