  1. Isn't that (gasp) Scottish? And not lager?

It's a full airpost scanner and metal detector system. What they are also stopping is things that could, supposedly, be used to injure people or create some sort of explosive if put together in some way. Which, sitting in a locker, would be harmless.
  3. Like which English lager did you have in mind?
  4. Nope, it's Bird http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0094747/

Marketing is the key to the success of any business. In ED, this forum should be the major marketing strategy of any local business - after all, what else is there? As others have said, businesses that respond positively on here and you will look good. Responding to customers is generally a good idea. And anyway, it looks like the 'ban' has been pretty much an epic fail, unsurprisingly. It's called the 'Streisand effect'.
  6. I say we just take piss out of a couple of (cough) imaginary local establishments. Say the "Ostentatious Lightfitting" and the "Huge Obese Athenian"?

25 Quid??? It's only about 17 quid to go up the Burj Khalifa and at least that has the honour of being the highest building in the world.
  13. I disagree, Maxxi. This has 'mad cat lady' stamped all over it.
  14. Yep, its a 2007 Maybach 57 V12 S. Piccie here:
  15. Blimey Rosie, you have high expectations of SE22's trolls. Have you thought of moving to Clapham? I hear the standard of troll is so much higher there.
  16. Oh, come on. Trolling trolls is *always* fun.

  19. That is incredibly neighbourly of you, salsaboy. You wouldn't want the poor chap's bins damaged, would you?
  20. Bet you don't...

No, you are just getting more information. ED is, for London, a very safe place to live. But it is part of a big city, so being aware is being clever.
  22. I have an opinion. You have no idea where I live. Chuckle.
  23. Again, I'd recommend Orchard http://orchardhosting.com/

What Jeremy etc are proposing, from the kindness of their hearts actually, but > quite misguided, is a curfew on women. No, he's not. He's saying be careful and take precautions when you can. I don't mean to make this sound like the Victim Olympics, but a male is much more likely to be violently attacked than a female. There are certain places I would not walk around at night alone and places I would not go at night. There are times when I will take a cab instead of a bus for safety reasons. Men have to take precautions. Women have to take precautions. That's life in the big city. No one is suggesting a curfew. I considered it trolling because some women's groups have actually seriously suggested it. Anyway, stay safe people. Hopefully this will be a rare occurrence. And I hope the poor woman gets all the help and support she needs.
