Happy to: in a post that directly responded to mine, you wrote: "It seems people are very quick to criticize the council for with-holding information are themselves very quick to ignore facts that don?t suit their argument." Which, as it is plain to see, I didn't. > > But, back to the point at hand: if I choose to fix > > the problem that my bin is overflowing by dumping > > it all in your front garden, then you should have > > no say in the matter? No, that's wrong. Putting in a CPZ is equivalent to painting your own private parking space outside your home, then parking your wife's car outside mine. The issue with CPZ is that it fences off x number of spaces - but unfortunately for a group of people owning 2x cars. And guess where those extra cars are going to go? It's called having your cake and eating it too. It's why all the people in the area should be consulted. *All* stakeholders. It is the only fair way of doing a consultation.

Hmm henryb, I notice you left out of your quote of my post the definition of a stakeholder... and then accused me of "ignoring facts that don?t suit [my] argument." Cute. And then you throw in an accusation that I was "very quick to criticize the council for with-holding information." That is downright dishonest. Where have I done that? But, back to the point at hand: if I choose to fix the problem that my bin is overflowing by dumping it all in your front garden, then you should have no say in the matter? That is what, in effect, you are arguing.

Pete vs Life must have improved immensely since the first series. That was dire.

henryb, Why should it matter if the people expressing an opinion live in the streets covered by the CPZ versus nearby or adjoining streets? The CPZ is going to have far reaching implications to a much wider area. 'Stakeholders' are defined as anyone significantly affected. The stakeholders in the proposed CPZ are not just those that live in the defined streets.

I've said this before, and I'll say it again... Southwark council has 63 councillors. Approximately 21 of these councillors represent areas that the East Dulwich Forum covers. Exactly one of those councillors comes onto the EDF regularly to listen to our concerns and opinions. That councillor is James Barber. For this he deserves a lot better than some of the rude and snide comments he receives on this forum. By all means debate with him, challenge him and disagree with him (as I certainly do regarding CPZs), but please stop with the ad hominem attacks. Or else he may just decide he will join with the other 62 Southwark councillors and say, "sod this for a game of soldiers" and cease being such a valuable resource to this forum. And we will be the losers if that happens. Have some respect, people.

I remember my tourist guide when I first came to the UK describing the broadsheet newspapers: "As a general guide, the Guardian is left of centre, the Telegraph is right of centre, the Independent is boring and the Times is excellent for wrapping fish."

Apparently, the ticket is invalid as the contravention as described did not occur (as the registration on the ticket is for another vehicle). Internet wisdom (so take it with a pinch of caution) says that the council will chase the incorrect reg and either the vehicle will not exist or they will contact the wrong person who, unless they are are unlucky enough to own the same make and colour, will tell them to sod off. However, keep the ticket. It is your evidence they messed up.

From the Which? website... My parking ticket doesn't include the correct registration number for my car. Can I appeal? When issuing a parking ticket, parking attendants must record a number of details, including the registration number of the vehicle. If key details such as the registration number are recorded incorrectly, the parking ticket is invalid. However, if the parking ticket error is slight ? such as the vehicle colour noted as being grey instead of silver ? this alone is unlikely to invalidate the parking ticket.

I betting that the one that looks like a hamster is frogmarched to the gym every day for the next three months by the record company.
-
I suspect that if the ticket has been issued incorrectly it is not valid.

That was maybe the best performance I've seen from Westlife. But only because I think it will be the last one I will ever see.
