Well, minus the wildly contradictory on-the-hoof policy statements and the rogue twitter account, anyway.

The OP seems like the EDF equivalent of getting hammered and deciding to drunkenly text old flames.

One of the black cabs sporting a new retina-burning advertisement screens on the roof passed me the other day displaying the Microsoft classic Blue Screen of Death.

Are you sure it wasn't Yodel? That seemed to be their modus operandi.

I have little sympathy for the US - after all, they've been 'influencing' other countries' elections for years and years. Besides, it's a little rich for the FBI to come out as part of this, considering their handling of Hillary's email investigations and the timing of their announcements quite arguably had a significant negative effect on Clinton's chances.

A little change is still longer. Dog duck seems to be rather incorrect, though rendell's link did teach me something new - that sunrise still gets later for a couple of weeks after Dec 21, even though the days are still lengthening.

Brian Eno wrote the original Microsoft startup jingle/music/torture device. That alone gains him my eternal dislike.

Sainsburys etc no staff to bag up at checkout V poor effort imho

I love Lidl and often shop there. But you have to take the experience as it comes. They are thoroughly useless with stock rotation, so all the new stock goes at the front - any bread, veggies, etc at the back is usually is poor condition. You have to able to decode their date stamping, as they have no best before dates. There is never any staff around. What they actually have in stock is really quite variable. But the prices are amazing and the food (well, what isn't rotting on the shelves) is of a good standard. And they are finally getting the hang of opening new tills when the lines get too long. And, if you are a Sloe Gin maker, their gin is really cheap and of good quality! -

Lidl cuts its margins to the bone, so something has to give. If you want service, go to Waitrose. But you'll pay Waitrose prices. -
The funny thing is: both Louisa and RD are both kind of right. Trump and Brexit are both due to the working class (and the white working class especially) feeling marginalised via left-wing identity politics - usually by them being at best ignored, and at worst being called names and told to sit down and shut up. And, in the UK, having their political voice (i.e. Labour) slowly taken from them, leaving them to be drawn over to the far right, rather than stick with the very people that marginalised them in the first place. But both Trump and Brexit are going to do absolutely nothing for them. Probably make their situations worse, if anything.

Works a treat in Germany/Austria, but they never quite got around to telling the UK clientele that this is the way they expect you to do things. -
Has to be the Brexit vote. Pretty much the lowlight of the century so far.

Speaking of irrational rage, I'd love to know what got up pop97's nose. (Not to be confused with pop9770).

I've always preferred to do my own packing since the time I bought a lovely French stick and the packer looked at the bread... looked at the bag... looked at the stick, realised one was much bigger than the other so neatly folded it in half and placed it in the bag. I was too stunned to say anything,
