  1. Hi all Does anyone know if Kelly is still in business? I have called a number of times with no answer and left voicemail message... Has she stopped trading? Any info gratefully received as I need a per honeymoon tan! Thanks! Georgina
  2. This footpath is part of my regular running route - a route I take 2-3 times a week in the dark and have never had any problems, seen anything etc. In fact, I don?t think in all the years I have lived here and used this cut through that I have even passed anyone else using it! This does, I realise, not make it safe! but I don?t ever feel any angst when running up/down there... Welcome to the area!

Yes I do think an announcement would have been useful - asking customers to avoid the isle or to bear with them whilst they dealt with a situation that had arisen in the store. And I do also think that a small bit of training would have aided staff in dealing with the situation. i.e - dont mop up blood or throw away the weapon at a crime scene. Both of which they did much to the policewoman?s horror. This was a very distressing crime to witness for all in the store yesterday.
  4. We saw most of the attack, some men/boys started fighting with each other at the end of the spirits isle, one of the boys either fell, or was pushed, into a display of wine bottles at the end of the isle. One of the 'attackers' began to hit the boy on the ground with a bottle, the second 'attacker' then appeared to start stabbing the boy on the ground with a piece of broken bottle or some other object. At this stage a very brave woman stepped in and started screaming at the boys and pushed the lads away from the kid on the ground (very possibly saving his life). Then some other customers appeared to break things up and all the lads ran off. This all happened in the space of a few seconds. I was at the oil section whilst this was happening and moments after 3 lads dashed passed me into the staff exit by the meat counter (hence the meat counter man shouting). Rather oddly Sainsbury's made an announcement just before all this happened and grabbed everyone?s attention by saying over the PA system "can all staff move to the back of the store" so I wonder if there was something going on elsewhere in the store beforehand... The police then arrived and were rather bemused to see the Sainsbury's staff had started to clean up the crime scene! However they did take statements from witnesses and got some blood from the floor... All very dramatic, rather worryingly the Sain's staff had very little clue as what to do in this sort of situation and didn't make any announcement to reassure customers or clear the store. I was very sad to see very small children having witnessed the attack very upset afterwards. All in all a very unpleasent thing to witness on a sunday afternoon in a supermarket.

  6. I have scanned through and cant see that anyone else has mentioned this so I will... I dont understand why they got rid of half a dozen "manned" tills and replaced them with these "self scan" ones - they seem to be a nightmare, eveyone I see using the ones in the centre of the store look really stressed and take twice the time to get through the checkouts... My biggest issue with the self scan is that they must replace human staff, I have always found the checkout staff polite and helpful and therefore always boyott the selfscan to keep the humans employed! Ps - I was in Sain's one quiet evening and all the customers were lining up to be served by humans and Sain's had about 2 staff wondering around trying to drag customers to the self serve areas only to be told NO!! Most amusing
  7. Thanks Bilvis - could the artist explain why he chose the wolf and sheep for this peice of work?

  15. Please yourself indeed - take my advise please your lady and you will be pleased !!! :)) (Naturally I am referring to your mate!)
  16. As a lady in a long term relationship - I think Wife 2# is being unreasonable. I am still very good friends with ex's and would have them at my wedding (should Mr George ever ask!) and visa versa I would not have a problem with Mr George?s ex's. It seems to me that Wife 2# has an underlying insecurity, or privately is jealous/envious of Wife 1# or else she would not be behaving so irrationally. My advise would be ask Wife 2# why she is acting this way, and for the sake of peace, do as Wife 2# asks to keep her happy, and Wife 1# will get over it eventually anyway!
  17. Does anyone know what time this chocolate haven is open until tonight? I have a dinner party this evening and want to pick up some yummy goodness to take along! Georgie
  18. I'm sorry to see a bad review of the Montpelier - its one of my locals and have always found it to be good for food and drink. I found staff a bit OTT when it first opened, but has now in my opinion settled into a nice little place. (Still need art or something on the walls) Sorry you were disappointed Cassius (Its on Costa Street off the Bellenden Road)
  19. Thanks - that is a shame, we live at the other end of ED and always made a trip to the Mag for a good game. Nevermind - on to the next! Thanks standswithfist
  20. Do you think the pub will still show sport - I always found the mag a really fun place to watch big football/Rugby matches - good atmos...?

Thats neither here nor there - This is a forum and I was giving my own opinion.
  22. I agree with Ganapati ED Mum's are a nightmare - what did childless woman do to them to warrant such looks of utter contempt whilst browsing in Ed on a Saturday afternoon? Perhaps I answered my own question with - 'what did childless woman do...'
