It does depend where you are going, what the transport links are like, whether you have anything heavy/bulky to transport in either or both directions, how long you are staying etc.. Foxy, I'm amazed you used to drive to Brighton and back in a day. I do it by train anyway. Far less hassle than driving!

Has anybody given up their car and not regretted it? My ancient car (1998) is in mostly excellent condition for its age (a couple of dents) but won't pass the upcoming ULEZ requirements. I live just within the ULEZ zone, but far enough from the boundary to not consider parking the car outside it (I'd have to get a bus to get to the car 🤣) I just want something reliable to get me from A to B, but I hadn't realised used cars cost so much, even quite old ones, and I'm not sure whether to get another one. I've had mine around fifteen years. Somebody I know who lives out of London is probably buying mine 😭😭😭 I haven't done the financial calculations lately, but there is also the convenience factor ....

Truly terrible service.

Is anyone still having delivery issues? A package from St Thomas's hospital that was posted to me on 11 August has still not arrived, and another tracked package just comes up with a message saying no information is available until the item has been delivered. How can that be described as "tracking"? It's now been so long that the sender has sent me a replacement. Let's hope that doesn't also go into the abyss where Royal Mail seems to keep its parcels 🙄

We had a lovely meal in Mirash last night Hadn't been there for years, since when it's all been done out inside. Shame you can't really see that from outside. Foxy, there is a separate drinks menu. Kingfisher on draught. Cobra in bottles. The Kingfisher was cheaper, and absolutely fine. We will be back! Based on the quality of last night's food it is now our Indian restaurant of choice!

The security thing is not an issue for us, so far as I am aware.

I'd have it if you could get it to my allotment!

Thanks Foxy 🦊! Our website builder is having a look at it tomorrow. I suspect it is connected with a recent WordPress update. Am not going to attempt to meddle with it for fear of making things worse 😭

Does anybody know anything about Wordpress? It all seems to have completely changed, and the whole of our website has gone down apart from the home page. Trying to contact the person who built the website, but in a panic !

Be careful, because I have twice "rescued" a very thin and scruffy cat (different ones) and on both occasions it turned out that they had homes and were thin and scruffy because they were ill. In one case I was told by builders that the owner had moved and left their cat behind, but it turned out that somebody else in the street had then taken the cat in, which the builders apparently weren't aware of.

You can get your medication online from Lloyds Direct (it used to be called Echo). I don't know if this only works for repeat prescriptions, but it's quick and easy once it's been set up. They remind you when you are running out, you order it online, they clear the prescription with your GP and send it out tracked. ETA: If you have several different medications running out at various times, which I do, you just select the ones you need (I always allow several weeks in advance just in case). The online customer service is quick and efficient, as well, should you have a query. Despite local postal delivery issues, I've always received mine very quickly. It's sent tracked (free delivery). I originally started it when I was shielding, but have continued because it's so much more convenient than queuing at the pharmacy.

NHS Covid Pass - digital & paper versions available

AylwardS Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > Sue have you done the latest update on the app? I know what it's supposed to be, but you are supposed to be able to download it from Google Play, and it doesn't seem to exist on there? -
Hooray! The heron is back too, haven't seen it for ages!

I just got a digital pass for domestic use, partly because we run gigs ourselves and I wanted to see what people would have to show (I had assumed it was just the bit of cardboard with the two vaccine dates on). The digital pass says it expires on 9 August 2021 at 12.59pm. That's Monday! I thought it was supposed to last 30 days then you log in again to renew it?! Can anybody shed any light? -
Some "jokes" just aren't appropriate these days. I don't have any appetite for getting into a long discussion about it. It will just go the same way as some other threads on here.

No of course I'm not the same Sue!!!! I have recommended Russell many times on here however, having been very happy with his service (and communication) in the past.

Used or unused? If unused, you could give it away?
