    Jury service scam?

I phoned, luckily got through easily. They don't text, it's a scam. Phew. I will leave this here in case anyone gets the same text. ETA: In some ways I would like to do jury service, but I have a horrible feeling the other jurors would drive me slowly even more insane than I already am. And if it was a distressing case it would really upset me.

    Jury service scam?

The text says they have already written (supposedly) and I haven't replied (supposedly).
  3. I've just received a text saying I was summoned to jury service by post but I haven't replied, and to avoid a fine, confirm attendance or otherwise by clicking on a link. I'm assuming this is a scam. I've googled but the only jury service text scam I've found is something similar, but not the same, from September. The link looks authentic, but obviously it would, and I haven't clicked on it. I'm assuming it would go to a genuine looking website. Has anyone else received anything similar? Would the actual jury organising people use texts? I did have an initial moment of panic, I must confess!
  4. This was some time ago. There's another thread on here. Have the police only just released detailed descriptions of the suspects?
  5. Thank you for making people aware, Skin_deep.

Assuming of course that your post is serious, which I'm guessing it probably isn't.
  8. Some people who have Long Covid smell weird things, including burning.
  9. That link needs you to sign in. Could you post the info directly on here, please? Particularly price per knife? Thanks!
  10. ms9 I was a bit bemused by your private message, as I don't live on your road! I did reply to it but you haven't read my reply, so I'm deleting both messages as I need the space!
  11. Just tell the bus driver you are waiting for a replacement, and in my experience they will let you on without a pass. Mine once got mangled because I kept it in my back jeans pocket and sat on it once too often. Helps if you look the right age, of course 🤣
  12. I still have a flock of up to thirty sparrows coming to my bird feeders. And an occasional robin (usually on the ground).
  13. On the contrary, it's riveting and I'm bored enough to post. I always use the Met Office app anyway. Not that that's always particularly accurate.

I didn't think anyone would notice, it being such an unimportant election 🤣

Afua Hirsch's excellent book Brit (ish) has some upsetting stories about stop and search.

  18. teddyboy, I'm not suggesting you are wrong, but can you say where you got this information/good news from?
  19. I know it was always predicted as a possibility, but everything I had read till now suggested it wouldn't get this far. Yes, utterly shameful, and also Trump still has weeks to do his worst re foreign policy and God knows what else.
  20. This is a bit unexpected (by me anyway): https://www.theguardian.com/us-news/2020/nov/09/william-barr-vote-irregularities-donald-trump-election?CMP=Share_AndroidApp_Other

  22. Oh that's excellent news, I thought they had permanently closed?
  23. If this is the same person who grabbed somebody in the park and started kissing them, then he is not "harmless", I would have thought. What did the police do when they caught him? Was any action taken? Is this man getting help/treatment?
  24. 🤣🤣🤣
