  1. Eh? They painted lines around the existing trees in the road some time ago. I contacted the council to ask what they were for. I was worried that they were going to remove the trees. They were to show the contractors where to put the paving stones around the trees, i.e. how big a tree pit to leave. Nobody has mentioned anything about new trees in the road, to the best of my knowledge! ETA: Penguin's reference to new trees above is hypothetical.
  2. That's quite distinctive clothing. Hope they catch him. He can't have thought he would get away with it, surely.
  3. The 2016 password was "yourefired" and the 2020 one has an exclamation mark 🤣 https://techcrunch.com/2020/10/22/dutch-hacker-trump-twitter-account-password/ "They" are now belatedly making sure Trump has double level security to get into Twitter (something like a number sequence texted to his mobile, I presume).
  4. Maybe not a good idea to put your phone number on a public forum? Did you mean to send a private message? Edited so as not to quote your post with the phone number in.
  5. They are allowing space around the trees in the road, but whether it's enough I have no idea!

Still trolling, then?

To be fair, KK, that's not likely to be Conway's fault. More likely due to things like clay soil and trees, surely?
  9. If you're stuck, I can use them. I use them for bin bags and also for my kitchen compost bin. I wash and re-use them till they fall to bits 🙂
  10. They are again storming ahead. They have already dug up all the pavement on the current stretch, and say that they will have finished it (including laying the paving stones) by Saturday, weather permitting. Really efficient! And also really helpful!
  11. I turned right into Townley Road from East Dulwich Grove today. Have I missed something here?

  13. This is a very long shot. I think I may have put a blue IKEA bag containing bulbs, seeds and other allotment related things - sadly possibly my notebooks - on the pavement while I was putting other things in my car, and then driven off without it. It was last week some time I think. It would have been in either Underhill Road (at the South Circular end) or Melford Road. Another less likely possibility is that I put it down in Ulverscroft Road or Crystal Palace Road when I was unpacking the car at the other end. I realise it's unlikely, but if anyone found it I would love the contents back!

Why would it be necessary to hold a business meeting in a pub? If it's true, I feel several business meetings coming on ..... Goose meetings ...... :)) :)) :))

As I understand it, it's not so much because it's easier for men to pee onto the heap, it's because there is something in men's pee which helps to activate the processes in the compost heap, which women's pee doesn't contain.
  16. OK thank you, I think I will just hope for the best :))
  17. One of my neighbours says that it IS the original Blue Mountain team (they had a chat with them) - crikey, from the early nineties then! Thanks for the info re Instagram, I'll have a look. Yes, delighted to see a vegan place locally. Very sad to hear that Tart has permanently gone, but glad to see another independent place is opening there. I hope the lovely conservatory at the back won't be changed too much.
  18. Work starting again 8am tomorrow.

I don't understand this? I have two AOL email addresses which I have had for years and rarely use, but I still get emails being sent to them, and one is a back up address for my gmail addresses. I went onto them yesterday and found several of these security update emails over a period of time, including a recent "final warning." I have AOL on both my laptop and my mobile. I don't understand this stuff about "third party applications". Can someone explain in very simple non technical language?

  23. I haven't been out much, and I just noticed this today. The front inside is laid out as a shop, as it used to be when the Blue Mountain first opened back in the early nineties. It seems they will do deliveries (menu in the window). Does anybody have any more information? Also, why has Maison Dog got its window boarded up? Has it closed down, or has somebody broken the window?
  24. I love the House of Dreams! Nice to see the Garden Museum got a mention in the article, too! Plus I'd never have known there was a Derek Jarman exhibition on there if not for this thread, so thanks PGC!
  25. I've just had a delivery! On a Sunday! Replacement bulbs! However, they were posted on 30 September... At least this lot weren't already sprouting...
