  2. Every resident of Ulverscroft Road was contacted with details of the road WhatsApp group when lockdown started, but if you have lost the details or have changed your mind about joining, I believe you can search for Ulverscroft Road on WhatsApp and ask to be added. Or of course if you have just moved to the road (welcome!) I can't remember how joining the group works now .... but it has been very useful, particularly today!
  3. Isn't it so that people don't message them thinking the item is still available? I find it more annoying when people don't put "sold" in the subject box, and you don't find out until you've gone into the thread!
  4. The problem is, who is going to be there to give someone a fine when the litter is dropped? Unless people know there is a reasonably high chance of being fined, they will just carry on regardless, sadly.

  6. Full information on the road WhatsApp group messages, Foxy! Somebody has a little water coming from her tap and has offered it to people to fill up bottles if needed!
  7. The young woman who came to my door was really sweet.

Responding just results in more of the same.

People in Southwark are > getting slack.... I agree. Whilst many tradespeople still are taking precautions (thank you Don Simpson, ace car mechanic, who went to great lengths to explain what he was doing to keep him and myself safe) a plumber who came to my house recently took no precautions whatsoever, and this is somebody who is going from house to house and working inside. At KwikFit when I collected my car (rear silencer replaced) I asked if they had worn gloves when handling the keys and they just looked at me as if I was mad. So I guess/assume they didn't when moving the seat back or steering the car either. I didn't bother asking, just took the necessary action myself.

The large hospice shop was still welcoming donations with open arms a week or so back 🙂

  15. I just keep my landline on permanent answerphone. I can hear any messages, so if it's someone I want to speak to (rare, as most people call my mobile) I can intercept them. Otherwise, they can just witter on. But I get very few spam calls.
  16. Sadly Fox I suspect you are going to be disappointed if you expect some exotic taste!
  17. Look on the bright side, at least they've gone!
  18. Try involving your councillor? Absolutely ridiculous to have a noise team clocking off at midnight. ETA: Apologies, just seen you have posted about this on the councillor thread.

  20. Amazon must know who ordered it, so surely they could contact them to tell them they have the wrong address?
  21. Thank goodness you found out before you exchanged contracts!
  22. Is the surname McClean?
  23. I should have said, the woodchip had been painted over at various times, so the top layer was several layers of emulsion paint, which made things worse!

You could speak to Daniel on the phone and get a feel for whether he could help, if you don't want to go straight to an appointment?
