  1. Can't see a thread relating to the under eighteen travel issue, so posting this here. It's a petition asking the government to save the under-eighteens bus pass: https://action.labour.org.uk/page/s/keep-free-travel

There never seemed to be any customers in Oddbins anyway. It always looked closed even when it wasn't, not sure why.
  4. As the original post was in 2017, I doubt they are still looking for a wedding venue 🙂

Plus possibly poor management at the Peckham office (going on issues mentioned on other threads). But what do you mean by "jobs for the boys"? I doubt Royal Mail's selection processes have suddenly changed to be unfair.

And as for asparagus beetles, GRRRRRR.
  7. On our allotment yesterday a bird flew over which we couldn't identify, but on looking it up later we think it might have been a yellowhammer. Is that possible round here? We didn't get a very close look but it seemed to be about the size of a blackbird, and was brown with definite flashes of bright yellow. At least one of my taddies now has legs. I think I wasn't looking in the right place 🙃 Anyway I am now giving them pellets of food for taddies with legs (as I'm not sure how much natural food there is in the sink).

  9. Still no post 😢
  10. I like getting SE22, so I'm quite happy to quarantine it for a few days until I can read it 🙂 What is junk mail to one person is useful or interesting to another!

  12. Has he fallen out with his girlfriend? There would be a difference between coming back to live at yours permanently, and flitting between yours and hers (not on in present circumstances).
  13. I've had no post for ages either.

  15. No mention of arrest of the man who allegedly broke into the house and assaulted the couple? Hopefully at some point we will know the full story .... I have a feeling that there is more to this than meets the eye, but who knows ....

To the best of my (admittedly out of date) knowledge, psychometric tests are quite commonly used in recruitment and the results would normally be used in conjunction with other information about a candidate, though also possibly as a first stage of selection if there were a lot of candidates. Nothing insidious about it. Obviously you have to exclude candidates somehow, otherwise everybody who applied would get the job 🤣
  17. The thread is ten years old - I'm guessing the OP's baby will have stopped breastfeeding by now 😂 BTW the post two above this one is a first poster posting on a very old thread - I would be cautious about clicking on that link .... ETA: That post has now been removed.
  18. JohnL Wrote: ------------------------------------------------ > > > I like the first comment - sort of fits > > "I know at least two people that were alerted > they?d been near someone with symptoms and all the > app told them to do was stay alert!" That's about par for the course in communication, I would say 🤣🤣🤣 Communication to the public in relation to the virus, I mean, obviously ....

I don't think you can fairly compare Milgram's experiment with a survey on the effects of a pandemic on people's mental health 🤣
  20. JohnL Wrote: -------------------------------------------------------Claims to be inactive now so > can't check it out :). Perhaps other people have pointed out the problems and they are belatedly sorting them. As the survey stood, even apart from the other issues, they could never have broken down the results by ethnicity, which I would have thought was a pretty important thing to look at, particularly given the apparently disproportionate numbers of BAME people testing positive for Covid-19.
  21. /forum/read.php?20,2116888 Protest about the George Floyd murder.

Does anybody posting on here have tadpoles with legs yet? Mine are in an old ceramic Belfast sink. It does have plants and algae, but I'm feeding them a plant based tadpole food which is supposed to be only suitable until they get their first legs. I have some different food for the next stage, when they become carnivorous as well. I'm worried if I miss the leg arrival, they may start eating each other 😭
