  1. Yay! ETA: Not local, but we saw ten Egyptian goslings at Hampton Court at the weekend. Very fluffy and very spotty!

Sounds like the adult version of come back to my place and see my little kittens (or puppies). Totally bizarre behaviour.

How would you like him to do that, especially considering the Tories have cut police numbers in London to the bone?
  6. The march was more important!

But maybe what you are saying is the people who weren't marching might have been the people who voted leave? Which would have been why they weren't marching? Or am I just confused? :)) ETA: Oh look, this thread is on page 99!

On the side of a house - from vague memory, somewhere sort of opposite The Lordship - that part of Lordship Lane, anyway. I just googled it: https://www.southwarknews.co.uk/news/graffiti-artist-catman-paints-queen-hoverboard-dulwich/
  10. https://www.thelondoneconomic.com/news/vote-leave-director-admits-won-lied-public/08/02/?fbclid=IwAR3dVW9PvsGCy4u1gAjg7io6_XbRd9J3yOnym3HhJF9x3SMzLfjnyrdD8xs So the "Vote Leave" director admits that they won because they lied to the public. What with that and the apparently illegal funding/spending issues, I can't understand why the result of the referendum isn't being declared void. ETA: An extract: And so to the damning paragraph that outs the Leave Campaign for what it was: Pundits and MPs kept saying ?why isn?t Leave arguing about the economy and living standards?. They did not realise that for millions of people, ?350m/NHS was about the economy and living standards ? that?s why it was so effective. It was clearly the most effective argument not only with the crucial swing fifth but with almost every demographic. Even with UKIP voters it was level-pegging with immigration. Would we have won without immigration? No. Would we have won without ?350m/NHS? All our research and the close result strongly suggests No. Would we have won by spending our time talking about trade and the Single Market? No way.
  11. I miss the bee that was there before :(
  12. https://www.telegraph.co.uk/bills-and-utilities/phone/bt-make-customer-services-listen-complaint/ BT in top three most complained about providers for fixed broadband (for which obviously you need a BT line) and in the top four most complained about for mobiles. So - fine if nothing goes wrong. Not fine if something goes wrong and you have to contact their dreaded customer service.

How do you tell what class someone is, btw???
  14. BT's customer service is absolutely appalling. Both in my experience and in those of others I am aware of. However good their actual broadband may be, I have no wish to engage with them ever again. I've already moved my mobile contract.

We were with a group of people (including Helen Hayes) who joined the march at Green Park (he park, not the tube station) having started at Victoria. There was a bottleneck of people trying to get out of Green Park into Piccadilly. We got down to the screen in the Mall but couldn't get much further due to the crowds, so never got as far as Parliament Square. And yes, there was no trouble at all, it was a really good natured and lovely day, we met some lovely people, including people who had come a really long way (felt a bit bad we just had quite a short journey there!)

  20. But Malaysian food is not Thai! Deja vu ......
  21. Surely there must be some objective independent estimate?
  22. Postie knocked today to deliver a package. I was expecting one, so I signed for it. Belatedly checked the address. It was for Lucas Bakery. Same house number, different road. Had a conversation with postie. Ended amicably when he agreed I might have good reason to suspect my "missing" post might have been misdelivered. Shortly afterwards I went out. Passed postie taking a picture of some shelving outside a house in my street (but inside their boundary wall). He said to me something along the lines of "If they don't want that, I'm having it" So if you're in the North Cross Road area and your shelves have gone missing, ask your postie ....
