There isn't a "smooth transition", is there? ETA: What date was it that the ED delivery office actually shut down? I still haven't received any notification about this, has anybody else?

My packet has finally turned up. Hooray. Obviously not on the day I was told it would be re-redelivered on (aka yesterday). The last entry on the Track and Trace (what a joke) page was at 4.08am on Friday, which says "Item prepared for redelivery". On the front of the packet is a sticker with 4/10 written on in bold black marker. That was the day when it was originally supposed to be redelivered, when I waited in all day (as I did yesterday). According to the Track and Trace page, at 6.26am on 4 October it was "due to be delivered today". So where the f*** has it been in the meantime? I spoke to my postie this morning. He said that there are currently three people delivering post to my road. He was delivering backlog post. Someone else is delivering "current" post. Yet another (the person with my packet) is delivering larger items. He said that since the move to Peckham, each postie is doing one and a half roads rather than one, for less pay. I would have thought a walk would be more than one road in the first place, but what do I know. He also said "Don't go to the office to pick things up." He said the queue stretches right to the main road on occasion. He said the Peckham posties are helping the East Dulwich posties out. What a total farce. ETA: This tracked item has been in the system since 29 September.

I would have thought a note on the windscreen would be more effective than a post on here ..... ?? ETA: Though I recognise they probably won't see that either if they are not driving it anywhere. If it is (illegally?) parked too near a corner, there must be somewhere to report this.

Surprise surprise, my re-rearranged delivery hasn't arrived today either .....

I use Google maps. You can set your preferences to avoid trains (or whatever) and it gives you the quickest route from your current location at any particular time, taking into account traffic conditions etc.. You can also set it to give you the route with fewest changes, no steps, etc, rather than the quickest. If you don't fancy the first route it comes up with, you can look down to see the others. You can also set either the time you want to leave, or the time you want to arrive. The only downside (which is not an issue with the site itself) is that if you have looked up a route for a particular time the day before you are going, you need to check again before leaving, because the situation might obviously have changed (eg traffic jam due to an accident etc).. I have used other apps, but I like this one the best of those I have tried.

It's even more annoying to be on a 176 sitting in the traffic jam down the Strand and round Trafalgar Square. Quicker to walk. I can understand why they would terminate it at Waterloo when the traffic was bad.

Dulwich Festival Fair provides several portaloos on Goose Green. I imagine other reasonably large events there do too?

And surely sorting en route takes the same time as sorting in the office. Unless they are supposed to do it whilst walking along - surely a safety hazard. Let alone whilst driving. It's a joke.

So. Yesterday the tracking site said my item was "due to be delivered today by East Dulwich DO." It wasn't. Possibly because East Dulwich DO no longer exists. There is a sort of humour here, but I'm not actually amused. Today it says 4.08am "Item prepared for redelivery." It doesn't say whether it will be delivered today or what. So I phoned their complaints people. Fair dos, I only had to wait 8 minutes for somebody to answer, not bad compared to many places. Long story short, all they can do is forward the complaint to the manager of the delivery office. So that would be the manager of the office which appears to be in crisis, then. And guess what, he (I'm assuming it is a he as most of them still are) has 72 hours to sort it. So, I'm told that if it isn't delivered today, it will be delivered on Monday. So having stayed in yesterday, I have to stay in the rest of today, then stay in on Monday. I made it clear that I am not willing to trek down to Peckham and probably wait over an hour in a queue, especially as I am currently quite ill. Oh, and it could be delivered to a Post Office, but then I have to pay 70p. The fee can't be waived because it is "two separate companies." FFS. Does anybody have an email address for the new CEO? ETA: It's [email protected] . Thanks Google! ETA: Don't bother phoning the number given beneath the email address though, it's just the general complaints number I just phoned. Which makes me think that email address will just go through to there as well. Not, obviously, that I thought it would be picked up by the CEO personally, but I did think it might go through to his office.

Call me cynical, but I can see where this is leading. Royal Mail will cease house to house deliveries. Every home will have a box somewhere, probably miles away, where their post will be placed. They will have a key, or a card, and will have to go and pick it all up, and probably pay for the privilege. Fixed hour contracts We have always offered fixed hour contracts​ to those who want them, but the agreement we've now reached means that all non-permanent staff will be migrated to a form of fixed hour contract which formalises the minimum number of shifts the Ivy House will offer, negotiated according to each individual's availability, and which will try to reflect staff's expectations of hours. Staff migrating to the​se new contracts will be afforded the full disciplinary process that was not previously a feature of their working arrangements. I thought West Norwood had been reprieved?

I'm expecting a requested redelivery today. I'm not holding my breath. A pack of magazines which we sell at our gigs was posted out first class on 19 September (as we found out later). We had a sold out gig on 28 September and had no magazines to sell. This was particularly unfortunate since our headliner was on the cover. When they still hadn't turned up by 1 October, we contacted the sender, who sent another pack out the same day. Both packs arrived in the same delivery on 2 October. GRRRRRRRRRRRR.

The Dulwich art trail takes place over two weekends during the Dulwich Festival in May. The Nunhead art trail was last weekend.

The Organised Mum Method also has a Facebook group. You can download (free) a load of cleaning plans etc.. Some of the Facebook members do seem to be a bit obsessive with cleanliness though (some of them seem to disinfect everything in sight, and wash towels and bedding every day ?!?!?!?!?! I don't know how they ever find time to do anything else!) ETA: Monkey, it might be doing other people on here a favour if you let us know who the cleaning people who trashed your house were. That sounds really appalling.
