  1. When we passed on Sunday there were families with children sitting outside in there. Surely this rubbish is a health hazard, particularly for the children. Couldn't something be done from that angle (I have no idea what)?
  2. DulwichLondoner: Surely the times of operation of a particular bus lane will depend on the traffic patterns during the day on that particular road/route? Which are quite likely to vary from road to road and depending on the time of day and direction of travel. Also, during those roadworks, the congestion was an absolute nightmare and I was more than once sitting on a bus near Denmark Hill station for a very long time because of vehicles going both ways trying - and failing - to pass each other. Gadge: You say "I think it's pathetic that you can not drop someone off at a station using a 10 second stop in a bus lane without receiving a fine." First of all, I cannot believe you could drop someone off in ten seconds. Secondly, bus lanes are there for a purpose, and consequently so are the fines. Once you start making exceptions to "drop someone off" you might as well not have the bus lane at all.

Somebody gave me one on the anti Trump march. I think I might buy a roll :)) And then there is this: http://www.fuckofftape.com/buy.php
  4. This is very interesting in relation to Trump's connections with Russia: https://secure.avaaz.org/campaign/en/shocking_truth_about_trump/?bLXOlab
  5. What sort of waste are you talking about? Surely anything which isn't recyclable would go to landfill in the green bin?

Are you sure that this was not "Community Hub"? Something quite different from "Community Pub" http://www.octopuscommunities.org.uk/our-projects/community-hubs/what-is-a-community-hub/
  7. There seem to be two threads on this? I've just posted on the other one ...
  8. The concrete blocks have been replaced with locked gates, haven't they? And I thought the car park was being used as a holding space for school buses so that they didn't obstruct local streets? There is a thread on this somewhere. So how did the caravans get in?

Given what we know about Trump's character, I'm guessing it's more likely to be something personal which if it was publicised (ie any evidence for it) would make Trump look bad. Exactly. Same here. I've never to the best of my recollection found anybody in an ED shop to be deliberately rude, or even off hand.

I said "greeted", not "chat with their mates whilst ignoring other customers." Greet. Aka " give a polite word of recognition or sign of welcome when meeting (someone)". Google it. FFS.

  16. Yep, agree it is the noise level which is the issue. Particularly in this heat when people are likely to be sleeping with their windows open.
  17. Personally the last thing I want when I go into a shop is to be greeted, when I just want to have a mooch around in peace. Unless I know the person concerned, that's different!

Fair? Many children don't seem to go to bed after 8pm. There are several shrieking from a garden several houses down and across (ie not in my road) as I type this - at twenty to nine on a Monday night.

We sell tickets via WeGotTickets, and we used to get the postcodes of ticket purchasers, which was useful for us to see how far people came for a particular gig, for future promotion purposes for example. I recently had a communication from WeGotTickets to say that they would no longer provide these postcodes, due to the recent data protection changes.

Yes, my partner and I were saying this recently. If children think it's OK to scream and shout outside on a regular basis (apart from in a park or playground) then they will grow up to be the kind of parents who let their own children do the same.
  21. It is all about consideration for others, isn't it? Although in my experience, children sleep through most external noise.
  22. Would whoever wrote the prescription know of one locally?
