Anyone have experience of applying for roof terrace permission?
Sue replied to mrsilencio's topic in The Lounge
Maybe give the council a ring and see what they say? You might be pleasantly surprised. -

I agree. C&A were cheap but their clothes didn't become like rags after a couple of washes (or one wash if you're unlucky). I used to buy a lot of stuff there when I was a student. I can't say I would miss BHS if it disappeared. It's got no USP any more.

And is the present series amateur chefs? Or - quite likely - I have them the wrong way round. Haven't watched lately, got a bit bored with it, same old same old.

It has a big branch on Oxford Street, near Oxford Circus. Once upon a time it was good for things like lighting, but not any more. And most of its clothes are horrendous. I'm amazed it's still going really. But then I'm amazed WH Smith and Boots are still going ..... and M&S.

Dog Kennel Hill Adventure Playground under threat?
Sue replied to andrewc's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
A good example of how rumour gets about! "Solid sources" are not necessarily reliable, it seems. -
Can your plumber or Thames Water not help with this?

I find it weird that Peckham Rye Park is still open well after dark. I thought it must be a mistake and they had forgotten to shut the gates, until I checked the times.

What's a semi-formal dining concept? It all seemed very informal to me, including stools at the window, and mostly snacky things :)

Sigh. Insurance is a joke, isn't it. You pay out for years, then if you eventually have to claim, they up your future premiums to recoup what THEY had to pay out.

Glad kitten is safe and well. Do RSPCA not help in cases like this if Fire Service don't any more?

Always a mistake :)) Someone always spots it :))

Franco Manca give tips to staff if they are added to the bill.

The places selling decent food were meant for people who appreciate it and are willing to pay a bit more for it. If you don't and you aren't, fine. All the easier for the rest of us to get a table without having to wait :)

Why don't you go and live somewhere else? Somewhere where there are just crap cheap horrible caffs which nobody would want to eat in unless they were desperate or very hung over? You are in a time warp. Streatham in the sixties with the Golden Egg :))

Louisa Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- Who in their right mind would spend ?7 > on eggs on toast when you can make it at home, or > go to a greasy spoon charging ?2 for the same > thing? Well I would, so are you saying I'm not in my right mind? I go out quite often for brunch on a Saturday, and I would willingly pay ?7 (except I don't believe it is ?7, see above) for properly cooked free range scrambled eggs on nice toast - with chilli jam - in a pleasant place which isn't my kitchen and where I don't have to cook the toast and get the eggs exactly right. And I honestly can't believe what you'd get in a greasy spoon would come anywhere near what you're likely to get in Rosie's, although I have only had their delicious cake (yes I know, I should have made that at home as well) and coffee.
