Finding this thread a bit off, tbh. Fine line between humour and smug middle class superiority.

ETA: And the estate agent tried to say that I must have "misunderstood" what I was clearly told on the phone :))

  7. Chamomile lawns aren't great if you're intending to walk on them a lot anyway - they get patchy and then weedy - so maybe you've had a lucky escape :)

  12. DulwichFox Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > I only stay with BT because of the hassle of > changing my e-mails. > > xxxxxxx Foxy, if you change to gmail, it is really easy. They import all your existing email contacts and will also forward emails from your existing inbox for a month - at least they did this when I changed to gmail a while ago. Plus you can still manually check your old email account (at least you can with AOL, who I was with before). For broadband provision I am with Plusnet and have found them excellent - even though BT is their umbrella company, I believe. Their customer service is brilliant, and they are very good value for money. Don't know about free web hosting, but we pay peanuts for the http://www.thegooseisout.com hosting since changing to a Wordpress based website, and it's been fine.

Everyone should do this - > I haven't had to visit a machine or ticket office > in years. xxxxxxx Even if someone doesn't have internet access themselves, presumably they could ask someone who does to set the auto top-up for them - or go to an internet cafe or the library, if they know how to use the internet. I did auto top-up in the days before my freedom pass. It was very easy and meant I never had to worry at all about the Oyster card running out. But I agree if you are travelling beyond the Oyster zone you do still need to use a ticket office, at least until such time as they change the system - I don't think you can get the add-on ticket at a machine, can you?

Don?t know if it is open > knowledge or right to state who it is on this > board xxxxxxx The owner has already been named on the other thread about this site, and to the best of my knowledge was in the public domain already via the planning application to the council? There were builders apparently working in there last week when I passed, but I've no idea what they were doing, if anything.
  15. fl0wer Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > If you have to kill a thing just crush it quickly. > For preference set it free outdoors instead. xxxxx I think sanitygirl (I keep misreading that as sanitarygirl :)) ) didn't want to set them free outdoors because they are predators of "good" ladybirds?

It was someone else further up the thread. Maybe a slip of the finger and they meant bacterial infection. ETA: Louisa, glad things are being taken seriously by the doctors. Do hope it all gets resolved soon.

  19. Two CD reviews from this month's fRoots: 1. "Its self-composed tunes are about as memorable as the last day it didn't rain and are played with all the nous of a brain-dead sheep." 2. "Horribly-toned accordeon with plodding bass notes and frenzied uilleann pipes conspire to murder Irish traditional music with the assistance of a homicidal cittern player. Truly, truly awful." :)) :)) :))
  20. Spinach in the dishwasher :( Why does it always get over EVERYTHING???

    Stomach bug

Other things could cause these symptoms other than a stomach bug. Antibiotics won't cure a viral infection, as suggested above, but I expect you know that. As it's now been going on so long, I'd be inclined - as someone else said - to insist that you get referred to an appropriate specialist. You may need scans etc.. My daughter's illness last year started with similar symptoms and she ended up being quite unnecessarily very ill indeed because she wasn't diagnosed for months. Whatever it is, you need a speedy diagnosis so that you can get appropriate treatment. I do hope you feel better soon. Take care.
  22. No problem at all James, and I certainly wasn't criticising - hope it didn't come across like that. I greatly appreciate all you do for East Dulwich, and I wouldn't normally have chased after such a short time, just that it was time-critical. Have got your response now, for which thanks.

  25. The Patient Participation Group at DMC has just emailed round a three-part survey, which apparently is also available in paper form at the surgery. Unfortunately it contains several questions which are impossible to fill in accurately - I'm guessing it was compiled by somebody unfamiliar with surveys. For example, the question "What is the longest you have had to wait in the surgery after your appointment time?" only gives you the option to put in a whole number of hours - meaning that anything less than an hour cannot be given. You can't even put in 0.5 hours, because that isn't a whole number. And you can't answer "varies" to questions such as "How many times do you usually telephone before getting through to the surgery?" Another question assumes that you have not been able to get an appointment within two days, even if you have. You have to answer the question, and you can't submit the survey without answering it ...... So unfortunately, I'm not sure that all the information they will collect is going to be accurate, and is therefore not going to be useful :( A pity, because a survey was an excellent idea to collect some statistical information about the apparent problem areas.
