  3. Maybe they spent so much time and money printing booklets and buying hideous bright blue bins that they forgot to actually give the bin crews their new schedule :)):)):))

THey told me when I complained that its all > above board and approved by the ASA! xxxxxx Naked Wines are absolute crap. I thought their wine must be OK as I had a ?50 voucher from Heals (when I bought a very cheap kettle there :)) ), so I assumed Heals had vetted them. They sell expensive rubbish covered up by a load of flannel about social responsibility etc.. Plus they hook you in via a scheme which seems to be good value but actually isn't. It's not often I can't force something down, but I had to throw some of their wine away because it was undrinkable. I keep meaning to complain to Heals, but now all and sundry seem to be giving away their vouchers. Sorry admin, off topic.

  6. Just been out to check and my food waste hasn't been collected either. Nul points, Southwark :X
  7. 10 factors that helped Knox's case
  8. Except that Untamed Stylist now lives in Cornwall!
  9. Brilliant! I'm never sure whether to put things obviously dropped on a wall, or to leave them on the pavement, I usually compromise by putting them on a low wall .....
  10. xxx Sorry admin :))
  11. Thread already on the forum here!
  12. Can't get smaller blue bins, only the blue boxes.

Some of them were the fathers of small children.

It was nothing to do with not having anti virus or spyware software.

No idea, but it has happened to me and also to various friends. Emails were sent out purporting to be from me/them but were actually not. Sometimes they are for things like V****a sales, sometimes pretending the person concerned is in financial difficulty (eg wallet stolen on holiday) and they need money sent to them. (the asterisks are because I've been prevented from posting this and I think it might be because of the V word!) There's been some publicity lately about the latter scam. I had one of them recently. I don't think it's by an automatic bot, at least not usually, I think it's by a "real" person, but I'm sure others will know a lot more about this than I do. Most important thing is to let your friends know that they must change their email password. Edited to add: They could also warn the people the emails went to not to click on any links in them. Could be a problem with viruses etc..
  19. Is there some reason why I have been able to post on various threads today but now when I click on "post" nothing happens? ETA: Obviously this has worked, but there is a thread in the lounge I can't post on? Maybe it's a temporary glitch, I'll keep trying .... ETA: Belatedly realised it was because my post included a "banned word" - V**GRA !!

Yes your friends' email accounts have been hacked. You need to tell them to change their passwords.

It was sad to see Netto go and to see the store empty but from what i have seen of the store conversion it is going to look fantastic. We open next wednesday (30th August) and i cant wait to officialy, start working for Asda and become part of the Asda Team at Goose Green. Aug 23, 2011 at 04:26 PM
  22. Kapt.Kopter Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > all praise to Sam, but why did it take three > minutes for you and another to intervene? xxxxxxx That's very unfair. Nobody knows what they would do in a similar situation. I would always have said that I would intervene, but I was once on a bus where a young man was attacked by two others and virtually kicked downstairs. The bus driver did nothing and nor did anyone else. Instead of going to help I retreated to the back of the bus out of the way. I'm not proud of this but all I can say is that there is a self-preservation instinct which kicks in, and you might not react in the way you would predict. We're not all heroes. And good for Sam, but given that he could have been killed or very badly hurt (and possibly is badly hurt) you might also argue that it would have been preferable to let the guy, who presumably would be caught on CCTV, get away with the televisions and let the police deal with it (once it was apparent that he was violently resisting).
  23. The Minkey Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > Redjam: There is a 160 litre smaller green bin > which you should be able to get. Like you I'm > sticking with my blue boxes. xxxxxxx Same here. I've ordered the smaller green bin but they couldn't tell me when the old one would be exchanged for the new one. So I'll have a small(er) green bin, a small brown bin for food waste, blue boxes for paper, glass, metal etc and bags for garden waste as needed. Which will hopefully all fit neatly in my relatively newly built bin recess :)
