Thanks for posting that link, gwod, I love the description of Autumn/Fall tourists in New England as "leaf peepers" :))

Improved train services from East/North Dulwich
Sue replied to TJMP's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
That's excellent news. I usually get the 40 back if I'm around London Bridge in the evening, I'll be more likely to use the train now if I know I won't have to wait more than fifteen minutes for one, even though it's a longer walk for me at the ED end. Thanks for posting it Tessa. -
YAY! :)-D

I do hope it goes well for you and the Vale will have you back :)

Good luck, but at risk of incurring DJKQ's wrath again, and I'm sure you know what you're doing, but are you relying purely on people reading this thread plus your and the bands' friends turning up? Have you gone down any other routes to promote the gig?

Sad but true. That's why we sell out for many of our DHFC gigs but some of our Mag gigs with absolutely top musicians don't even attract local Goose punters, because they're not "names".

We have posters up at DHFC asking people to respect the artists and not talk while there's live music, and yes - still people do (and occasionally get arsey if asked not to, though I've never actually had to chuck anybody out yet - though I will if I have to :)) )

Sorry we have a Goose gig Upstairs at the Mag.

Any ideas for an Arts Centre in East Dulwich?

I do think there's a danger of duplication. Who would run the umbrella website, and who would decide what was "arts" and what wasn't? Comedy? Folk music? Dancing classes? ETA: And what geographical area would it cover? And who would draw the line? -

It's quite a small space, doubt there'd be a need for something huge - especially bearing neighbours (if any) in mind :)

Unless I missed it. It also has a curfew - I think 10.30pm - which isn't that great for music gigs (I was at one there recently). But obviously all that would have to be negotiated. Anyway, I'm just floating the idea at the moment, so don't get excited people :)) -

Where was Mad Meg's? After my time I think! -

What is the shop owner supposed to do, just shrug their shoulders and put up prices to cover the cost of the stock that's been lifted? It's not as if they're shooting the people concerned :))

Lol, Keef and legalbeagle. We saw the double rainbow from the front of a bus on the way to Deptford, and at one point the end of the main bow appeared to be over Canary Wharf. Was amazing how it got brighter and brighter. I love rainbows :) Would like to have seen it over East Dulwich, so thanks for the pix!

Am I dreaming, or didn't there used (grammar) to be a gallery near that estate agent on the corner of Barry Road? -

Huggers Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > Great idea. We did have something like it upstairs > at the EDT in the old days xxxxxxx Blimey, when was that? We used to run gigs Upstairs at the EDT before they chucked us out to make it The Lodge, but that must have been later? Would the space be big enough? What's happening at The Lodge at the moment, is it still a restaurant or what? -
rahrahrah Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- Only four trains an hour, before 8 on Saturdays. xxxxxxxx Surely that's not too bad? I prefer the bus, but if you just miss one train fifteen minutes isn't that long to wait for another one is it?
