  1. Would rather go locally to Green and Blue for wine tasting, thanks, not trek to the other side of London, however good a price it might be ......
  2. Your English is perfectly good, it's your patronising attitude which is bad (6)
  3. I live by myself. If I buy a load of veg it goes off. I work full time and run gigs as well. I don't have time to mess about chopping up chicken and then dealing with all the separate bits. I'm over sixty, I work in Islington, I have a long commute and I'm knackered when I get home. Don't be so patronising. Edited to say: If you bothered to read my posts you would see that I support the Co-op's ethical stance, which is why I would prefer to shop there. However you would also see why I probably won't continue to shop there.
  4. They came up when I was doing a search for a particular wine, just wondered whether anyone had ever used them and what the wine is like? I gave up buying wine in preselected cases ages ago because it always seemed to be crap :-S
  5. The rusty bike sound is the Great Tit :) Edited to add: There's loads of them around ED, it's the one with the black bib, and bigger than the Blue Tit, which doesn't have the bib.
  6. I really want to support the Co-op too, but sadly I have now made out a shopping list for Sainsbury's to get all the things the Co-op didn't have. They really are shooting themselves in the foot, it's much easier and more environmentally friendly for me to walk to the Co-op than drive to Sainsbury's, plus I agree with their ethics, but I'm not going to keep going there on the off-chance that this time they might actually have, for example, packets of stir-fry veg or free range chicken pieces or tissues - basic stuff, you would think.
  7. :))
  8. OOOps sorry, should have looked at the marmite thread first :-$

  10. They didn't have any eggs? They usually have at least some, but they have moved their location, they are not in a very intuitive place, I couldn't find them first time I looked for them. Tomatoes possibly affected by lack of flights? Not that I'm defending them.

  14. The stock problems/empty shelves are very much worse than they ever were with Somerfield - at least whenever I have been in.

  20. Have you seen the old man In the closed-down market Kicking up the paper With his worn out shoes? In his eyes you see no pride Hand held loosely at his side Yesterday's paper telling yesterday's news Chorus: so how can you tell me you're lonely And say for you that the sun don't shine? Let me take you by the hand and lead you through the streets of london I'll show you something to make you change your mind Have you seen the old girl Who walks the streets of london Dirt in her hair and her clothes in rags? She's no time for talking She just keeps right on walking Carrying her home in two carrier bags Chorus In the all night cafe At a quarter past eleven Same old man is sitting there on his own Looking at the world Over the rim of his tea-cup Each tea lasts an hour Then he wanders home alone Chorus Have you seen the old man Outside the seaman's mission Memory fading with the medal ribbons that he wears In our winter city The rain cries a little pity For one more forgotten hero And a world that doesn't care Chorus
  21. I need to know :) Are Midget Gems those round flat things made of white chocolate with hundreds and thousands stuck all over one side of them, or are they the tiny jelly like things of different colours which are a bit chewy and have different flavours? Thanks in anticipation of your reply, and I can't wait till H & G open their ice cream counter again and have those praline caramel ice cream things YAY I'm going all funny just thinking about it :)-D
  22. I've never seen anyone famous in East Dulwich, but that's because I'm a sad f****r who never watches the telly except for Shameless, so unless Frank Gallagher or whoever the actor is who plays him suddenly appeared in Lordship Lane I wouldn't recognise any of the Famous People. Hic.
  23. All my pets are dead :-$
  24. Christ there's loads of them, where to start :-S OK one example, Rory McLeod, possibly MacLeod, f-ing brilliant, clearly someone is giving him credit as we can't afford him at The Goose Is Out! but who on this forum except for me has ever heard of him?? Used to be a busker and one-man-band :)-D
