I don't understand this. Colin (pest control guy) came round. He couldn't find a nest anywhere. He gave me loads of sticky traps with the aim of identifying where the worst of the infestation was. They haven't caught a single moth. However I've killed maybe three or four I've found elsewhere since then, in different places. I've examined everything really closely and I can't see anything anywhere which looks like a moth larvae or grub. I understand it's the male moths that fly about, so the ones I've killed must be females? So where are all the males? I don't really want to fill the place with chemicals - several sorts to kill all stages of the lifecycle - and so I've been to John Lewis and spent a fortune on cedarwood and lavender stuff (already had some but discovered it needed sanding down as the smell had gone) but I'm a bit unsure how effective this is likely to be. Anyone know why my traps wouldn't be catching moths? I've put them on and near things that seem to have attracted them in the past, ie that have been munched. ETA: I was a bit put out when my neighbour said this was the first year they haven't had moths - clearly they've all migrated to mine :))

I phoned Southwark about a dog barking all day in its garden last year, I think it must have been when the owner was out and wasn't aware that it was barking. They came round virtually immediately and spoke to the owner and the dog has been quiet since (I hope for good reasons!)

Actually in retrospect I think he was probably both. Definitely a nutter though. Actually come to think of it, the first thing he did when we arrived at friend's cottage once was to turn tail and run headlong down the hill back to the car park, because he had seen a crowd of people through the window and couldn't cope. Oh God that's just reminded me of many other similar incidents. Yep. Nutter. ETA: Sorry if my use of the word nutter has offended anybody :-$

Oh for goodness sake. Just because you don't like these things doesn't mean to say that nobody else does. I read the magazine, and I am looking forward to playing table tennis in the park. I think it's a great use of council tax and makes the borough a nicer and more interesting place to live in.

Had mine ages ago, well it seems like ages abo, but as has been said above, you don't need it to vote in either local or national elections.

Southwark Noise Control are generally very effective in my experience. I'm surprised contacting them hasn't worked. Have you involved the (other) neighbours? Have you kept a record of when the noise happens? Have you tried to record it (eg on a mobile) at all? Have you approached the owner of the dog?

I once went out with someone who as soon as he went anywhere new got down on the floor and sniffed the carpet (or would probably be some other floor covering these days). Nutter or sensitive? You decide.

If you stand at the bus stop outside the Post Office on Lordship Lane, it looks like there is a bus coming. But actually it is something red sticking out from a shop, possibly the newsagents, just up the road. I have known this for years but STILL I THINK IT IS A BUS COMING!! (6):)):-$

I'm a woman, and yeh it's true - this time I really don't know who to vote for. But are there not men who also don't know who to vote for?? Apart from a Liberal (sic) blip once and voting SNP when I lived in Scotland, I've always voted Labour in general elections. Green and other stuff in local elections. And now - ???? Well it deffo won't be Tory, but I dislike (edited from hate) Gordon Brown as a person but his policies seem OK, and I was never anti the Iraq war because all very well looking at things with hindsight, and blah blah blah. OK I've had too much Brown Brothers Dry Muscat. And I do remember the euphoria when Labour got in after zillions of years of Tory rule. :-$

Nah, it's all changed now, innit.

Yes that's true, had forgotten about the distress call, if I hear it I go into the garden to see if I can see a cat (and if so chase it away).

I'm pretty sure it was for a dare, if I had thought she was running away from someone I would have called the police immediately. There was nobody chasing her. My lights were on and she could have rung my bell, also she wasn't calling for help or anything. Had forgotten all about it till I saw this thread!

No response to my letter as yet. I'm giving the manager a couple of weeks to respond before I email their head office. I spent a load of money in Sainsbury's yesterday which the Co-Op could have had if they sorted themselves out, it seems a real shame.
