  1. I once had a courier leave a parcel on the wall outside my house, and of course it was nicked. The funny thing was, it contained a book whose title was something like "How to Get Things For Free". :))
  2. Ah - I must be going there at the wrong time of day or week or something then, I haven't seen any in there for months! Or organic veg??
  3. Hey Wichita Lineman, love it :)
  4. Girl - The Beatles
  5. When I was a student many moons ago I worked in the caff at a frozen food factory over the summer, and was instructed to defrost the chickens in a sink of hot water. Mind you we also used to fry the chips with ciggies hanging out of our mouths over the chip pan .... Great job, back shift, got to read lots of books and a taxi home paid for at the end of the shift :))
  6. I got a packet today, I only ordered it last Wednesday so it was probably posted towards the end of last week.
  7. Well here's a new take on things .... Just got back from work. I have a very small letterbox. Found on the mat an empty jiffy bag (posted First Class, definitely Royal Mail) and six separate ink cartridges strewn about. Evidently the postie couldn't get the parcel through the letter box in one go, so used his/her initiative. Not sure whether to be glad or annoyed ....
  8. ooer crossed post, spooky :-S OK going back to flapjackdavy's: The Common People - Pulp
  9. Play With Fire - Stones
  10. Back in the USSR - The Beatles
  11. We Gotta Get Out of This Place - The Animals
  12. We were there on Saturday afternoon, and we were very impressed with the changes, it's a much nicer place to wander round now. Sadly I can't afford ?120 for a top, though :-$
  13. thexwinglessxbird Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > Some people are just so inconsiderate. xxxxxxxxxx Didn't mean 9.45 was inconsiderate, just that it was quite late for a public display because usually fireworks on the Thames are relatively early so that children can enjoy them too, unless there's some reason to have them later like midnight on New Year's Eve
  14. Well it was Jah Lush, innit. Who knows. Deep as something, er, very very deep.
  15. As Tears Go By - Marianne Faithfull Sorry if I'm not allowed two consecutive posts, just had to get that one in :)
  16. Jah Lush Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > http://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/forum/file.php?2 > 0,file=6506 > > These beagles are dying for a fag. xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx That's a horrible and upsetting picture :-$ edited to say: but something seems to have gone wrong with quoting the post .....
  17. Is that the place that used to be a French (?) restaurant? Always looked empty? If it's become an African restaurant I'd be interested in trying it out!
  18. Tears - Ken Dodd :))
  19. KalamityKel Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > is/was 9.45 that late? xxxxx Thought it was much later than that?? Seemed much later! But anyway, yes, 9.45 is quite late for a public firework display I think
  20. For a few days there seems to be music coming from somewhere around Crystal Palace Road, around the North Cross Road area, it's not excessively loud (not from my house anyway) but it's beginning to be annoying as it's constantly in the background. Can anybody shed any light?
  21. Word got out, and prospective M&S customers were raiding the bins instead of filling the tills
  22. That's funny, it says "yesterday 05,05pm" at the top of your post ......
  23. Yes it's disgraceful. But many supermarkets don't just bin it, they actually make it inedible so that people don't come and raid the bins for cheap food. According to an article I read once.
  24. Oh Oh Antonio - Florrie Forde :)) Apologies Jeremy :-$
