  1. Have a thoroughly well deserved break, and thanks so much for all your hard work. But, er, what's "cookwank"? Did I miss something? My mind is boggling ...... :-$
  2. Do you have any tales to tell, as you are writing an article about local hauntings?
  3. You have forgotten the person/people who stands/stand a few steps up the stairs, thus indicating "the upper deck is full", when actually it is about half empty. Or the person who says "there's no seats upstairs" when they haven't actually ventured to the back, where there are several vacant seats. (6)
  4. Rave On - Steeleye Span
  5. Go Now - Moody Blues
  6. Well said LegalBeagle
  7. I use eBay quite a bit as a buyer, and the only minor problem I've ever had was with fairy lights which came with the wrong adaptor which was unsafe to use in this country. The seller disputed it but I got my money back. Everything else I've bought I've felt was good value, particularly new shoes (genuine) which I've got for a lot less than I'd have got them in a high street shop. However I must admit I have a few things which have been kicking about for years because I've not got round to putting them on eBay - anyone want a Tibetan/Nepalese tangka?!
  8. Walking the Dog - Rufus Thomas
  9. Oh come on, surely somebody else but me must have seen it and thought it was a bit, er, odd. No??
  10. There's usually/always one at Crystal Palace, as well, been good when I've been to it
  11. This was the Saturday Guardian's "unsettling animal picture of the week" the other week. Surely it must have been photoshopped??? Snake born with hand
  12. The Bells of Rhymney - Pete Seeger
  13. Keef Wrote: but you > only have to witness the behaviour of a lot of > women on hen dos to know that this isn't an > exclusively male issue. xxxxxxxx So far as I'm aware, groups of women don't stand outside pubs and deliberately make men on their way home from work feel uncomfortable, Keef :-S
  14. Yeh, that way misses out Thornton Heath High Street but there isn't usually too much traffic there
  15. Good luck with your move, Becca, bet the secret garden is brilliant :)
  16. Anyone know where the huge amount of smoke which could be seen from Lordship Lane tonight was coming from?

It's a > doddle. xxxxxxx Don't drive?! You obviously don't end up at the checkout with a zillion bags full of stuff you don't really need but it's all so cheap but you end up spending enormous amounts of money and no way could you get it back on public transport. :))
  19. Wouldn't have thought you were a violent person, Moos. Love and Peace, Man :))

  21. SteveT Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > Moos wrote:- I would have so hated living in the > 60s. > xxxxxxxxxxxx Living in the 60s was great :)) Better than the bloody 00s. Well I was forty years younger, for a start :))
  22. I go Lordship Lane, Sydenham Hill, Crystal Palace Parade, straight on down Queen's Road, left down South Norwood Hill, right onto White Horse Lane, right down Thornton Heath High Street to the clock tower, left past Thornton Heath Station to the end of that road, right to Thornton Heath Pond (a few yards on from where you turn right), turn left there then straight run through to Ikea. Not forgetting to call at the Chinese supermarket and/or Wyevale's (bit further on where the old Purley Way swimming pool used to be). Edited to add: Gone this route loads of time, never had any problems Edited again to add: I've been to Ikea on a Friday night and it was virtually empty

It wasn't till much later that I realised there must have been a sewage outlet there, quite near the shore too, YUK, don't know how none of us became sick :X
