  1. Not since I've been using the forum - can't remember when that is though :)
  2. I've used Ralon to send faxes, it was fine, no problems :)
  3. Very sensible idea, Keef, would make sure everybody knew about the drinks. You wouldn't need the whole thread, just a post saying where and when and a link to the main thread in the lounge. :)-D
  4. nancysmum Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > Sue, if the fence makes you wince, how do you > think we feel when we see our children with > dogshit on their hands, shoes, etc? xxxxxx I'm not sure that the two things are related - I was responding to a point about aesthetics :-S Dog-free areas can be provided which look nice, as in the park by Sainsbury's. I have grandchildren, of course I don't want them (or me) getting dogshit on them.
  5. Well maybe it should be in both ... It's clearly something that's "on" :)) Maybe the drinks should be renamed "EDF Drinks for Forumites who Use the Lounge" :))
  6. I know a lot of people who use the forum to find out what's going on in East Dulwich, not to "relax and chat" as the description of the lounge section says. Of course people find this thread OK here, because they're the ones who use the lounge! Those who don't use the lounge won't know the thread exists, so they won't know whether it's OK here or not! What other "quite a few things" would they miss in the lounge? The song game, jokes, rants .... busy people don't have time for all that (unless like me they're looking for any excuse not to get on with their work :) )
  7. Why is this thread always in the lounge, rather than in "What's on"?? I never knew about the forum drinks for ages because I never went into the lounge section, and I'm sure a lot of other forum readers don't either :-S I only found out about the drinks because there was a reference to them on another thread in another section.

  14. I've PMed you, BB :)
  15. KalamityKel Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > Through an estate?!! ::o xxxx Eh? It's, erm, a road which runs through the estate on Dog Kennel Hill, yes. If you don't want to mix with the riff-raff :-S you can take the next road on the right instead, but I do it on my own every Goose night at Hoopers with no problem, last time in the dark :-S Edited to say: People who live on council estates don't bite, you know.
  16. Jah Lush Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > P13 and get off first stop on Avondale Rise, > turnaround and walk back up the hill and turn > right and it's 30 yards away. xxxxx Blimey, you don't need to get a bus! Walk up to East Dulwich Station, cross the road, walk a little way up Dog Kennel Hill, turn right through the estate, right at the top, left into Ivanhoe Road - it's a five to ten minute walk from Goose Green :)
  17. We were there last night, the Doom Bar was absolutely fine - delicious in fact :)
  18. I'm a council tax payer too and I would be delighted for council money to be spent (not "wasted") on making things I have to look at locally aesthetically pleasing - I agree they're to some extent subjective, but not "entirely" subjective, surely? That fence across Goose Green makes me wince every time I look at it, never mind the practicalities :)
  19. Yeh but presumably cheaper from the author :))

Including having viewing galleries over sorting offices, etc etc No idea if this still happens, but I'd be suprised if it didn't. Peckhamdoll, you can hardly blame someone employed by Royal Mail for slagging off casuals working out of the same office, suggest you complain to the central Customer Service Department rather than the sorting office itself :)
  21. If you've only eaten at the Mirash, it might be good to try some of the others recommended on this thread at least once in a while, as in my experience it's one of the less good places in ED for Indian food.
  22. Hey that's a great book, I was looking at it recently, it's in the Tate Modern Shop. Now I've given you a plug, can I have a discount? :))
  23. Restraining myself from mentioning Mick and Montmorency (sp?), and I bet I am one of the few forumites ever to have seen it (tiny black and white tellies? Bring 'em back!), I will just say how sad I would be if this building was demolished, I love it, and that pale imitation of it which has been built behind it is just a joke :-S
  24. Hi If you want to sing at the Goose, can you let us have a demo CD or else a link to some folk tracks online, and we'll have a listen :) If we thought it was Goose-friendly, we'd probably ask you to do an unpaid support slot at DHFC before booking you for Hoopers. Have a look at our website to get a feel for the kind of stuff we do. You could also try John and Elaine at the Dream Machine, next to Palmerstons, who put on live music there and sometimes elsewhere. :)

But thanks for the thought, we do always feel for the musicians (and those who want to listen to them) when there are people there carrying on loud conversations, but hey, it's a pub, there's nothing we can do about it :-S
