Good idea, but a bit like writing to their Head Office, it's rather far down my list of priorities. Now I feel like I shouldn't be wasting (ooops I mean spending) time on here when I've got a very lengthy To Do list 😭

I imagine you would have been similarly annoyed if it had been you in that situation. I would. Don't bother complaining to Sainsbury's, Lynne. I complained to them by email after an incident in there on Christmas Eve, which I posted about on here at the time. I received an email back saying I would get a response within some time scale - I think it was three days. When the weeks went by without an answer (or even an apology) I phoned them up. The person said "Oh, you won't get an answer." Me: "????". Person: "The complaint will have been sent to the store to be dealt with there." Me: "So will I get an answer from the store?" Person: "No, they won't answer." Me: "So why was I told I would get a response within three days?" Person: Shrugs shoulders, I imagine. Me: "I'm not at all happy about this. How can I complain about not getting a response to my complaint?" (!!!!) Person: "You will have to write to Sainsbury's Head Office." Me: "OK. Please can I have a contact name and their email address?" Person: "Oh, you can't email them. You will have to write a letter and post it." So. I have an address. Needless to say, this has been languishing in my pile of things to do for weeks. Anybody would think Sainsbury's didn't want feedback, or indeed to be actually put to the trouble of having to deal with annoying customers who had had bad experiences in their stores I stopped using them for deliveries years ago after a similar lack of any smidgeon of customer care 😡 If I ever go in there now it's either as a last resort (as at Christmas) or to pick something up from Argos.

When I lived in the country, there was one bus a WEEK to the nearest large town, in the morning, and one bus back in the afternoon of the same day. This was to enable people to do their weekly shop. Luckily, I had a car 🤣 I haven't had any issues with the 12. We are lucky that it starts at the top of Barry Road, so at least going in that direction it is easy to get a seat. Although if you are going further than Peckham it's quicker, as you say, to get another bus and change, because the 12 goes a very long way round to get to Camberwell Green and onwards from there ...

Lloyds Pharmacy North Cross Road is closing
Sue replied to Lynne's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
I have never had an issue with medication being delayed in the post or delivered late. I don't know, but I think Royal Mail must treat it as priority. Obviously if you need something urgently - eg antibiotics - you would want to go immediately to a pharmacy, so Lloyds Direct wouldn't be appropriate. The only time I ever used Sogim, I had a terrible experience. I wouldn't willingly go there again. I can't remember the exact details, but if memory serves I was kept waiting for an extremely long time (maybe half an hour) for a prescription which just involved getting a packet of something off a shelf and putting it in a bag, while they served everybody else who came in after me. Perhaps they just don't have enough staff? -
I actually walked past the station yesterday (sadly without having the lightbulb with me!) There were several overflowing bins on the pavement, past the station entrance and heading downhill, but I couldn't see anything resembling an electrical recycling bin?

It's very easy to change GPs. You just register with the new one. You don't have to tell the old one. Just make sure you are in their catchment area. I understand there are particular reasons why you want to stay where you are, but sometimes other factors might outweigh these? Good luck, I hope you get a good outcome soon x

There are coffee machines in the Co-op???

Thanks very much! I appreciate your taking the time to write all that! It's going to take me a while to get my head around it though 😂 I've still got Windows 10, and my laptop is too old to upgrade, but hopefully the steps you suggest shouldn't be too different.

Albrighton Community Fridge, Dog Kennel Hill
Sue replied to Sue's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
I just googled. In case anybody else needs to know, it is open from 10-4 on Wednesdays (as ctovey says, for donations only). -

Hmmm, my daughter did that, the battery they put in her phone lasted about a week. She doesn't live in London and had gone home by that time, so couldn't take it back and complain. There are loads of phone shops in Rye Lane. Hopefully she was just unlucky.

I did Google first, obviously! Nothing nearby came up for light bulbs, just the Old Kent Road council recycling place, and various places like large Currys stores, none of which are very near here! Where is the one at Denmark Hill station? I've never noticed any kind of recycling bin there. Is it just for electrical items, or does it take light bulbs as well?

It has apparently already been sorted

You joined the forum in 2013, but this is the only post you have ever made. Do you have some connection with the salon? It reads like a rather over the top advert. Apologies if not, but we have seen similar posts on here before ....

I am also looking for somewhere nearby where I can recycle a light bulb.
