Leash Laws not being obeyed in Dulwich Park
Sue replied to user289237742920's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
Perhaps the OP needs to make the title more specific, to avoid the serious issue in question being taken over by other stuff unconnected with it? -
Francoise Hardy 😢 at 80. French sixties singer. Tous les garçons et les filles ... great song.

How weird!

The Ivy House, lovely as it is, doesn't book rooms for parties any more, to the best of my knowledge, except in exceptional circumstances. Though you could ask, in case things have changed again. The Castle has a nice function room upstairs, but I have no idea if they book it out for private parties.

But presumably without the cinema part? -
Royal Mail Late Deliveries and the price we have to pay
Sue replied to a topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
Off topic but I don't want to start another thread. I just had a Royal Mail delivery of a parcel. The postman ignored a large sign on the door asking people to ring the bell, and just rattled the letterbox, which luckily I heard. When I opened the door, I found the parcel on my doorstep in full view of passers by, and the postman getting into his van a few houses down. I then received an email informing me that my parcel had been delivered to my "safe place", an "enclosed porch". I don't have a safe place, and my porch is not enclosed, it is basically a doorstep to a terraced house . I know posties have a lot to do, but I find things like this really annoying. -

Problems finding Delmosart and other medicine in pharmacies
Sue replied to radnrach's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
You have my complete sympathy. In my case, I discovered you can't even go to an eye emergency clinic any more. You have to phone round opticians on a list who are part of a scheme. The only one in East Dulwich who was part of the scheme had a six week waiting list. That isn't very helpful when you are in danger of going blind. I was lucky that another East Dulwich optician told me to try one in Crofton Park, who was able to see me that day. They told me it was good that the ulcer had been caught early. Hollow laugh. It was three days and a long long saga before I could get the eye drops. Ironically, I paid for a private prescription rather than the optician sending it to my GP to prescribe because I thought it would be quicker 😭 And then I couldn't get the effing drops anywhere anyway. -
Problems finding Delmosart and other medicine in pharmacies
Sue replied to radnrach's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
I had this problem recently when I couldn't get antibiotic eye drops anywhere which I needed urgently for an eye ulcer. Wholesalers had run out. I had to get a new prescription for an alternative antibiotic. Might whoever has prescribed yours be able to suggest an alternative, even on a temporary basis, or is that not possible? I have read that this is happening all over the country. I believe it is partly but not wholly to do with Brexit. What seems ridiculous to me is that there is apparently no central system to be able to find out what wholesalers/pharmacies have a particular medication in stock. People who need urgent treatment are stressed enough already without having to phone round themselves to find a place who has what they need. -
It was £1k for the claim for the subsidence in my front bay. This new policy would have had an excess of £2k, but unfortunately in looking through a load of old paperwork I came across old claims for ground movement in 1992 and around 1998 ( I think), one at the back of the house and one when a rod was put through the front bay , which I had completely forgotten about and had been completely sorted at the time. In the interests of full disclosure, once I had found them I had to tell the insurance company, who then hiked the excess up to £5k, even though it was so long ago. The brokers said they would try to get that reduced next year. 🙄

I have been following this thread with interest, and the question which keeps coming to my mind is WHY? WHY would you need an ostrich egg? I thought it was a joke at first, but apparently not!

New Shops in Dulwich / Peckham - 2024 Edition
Sue replied to Joe's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
Willow is now being emptied of its remaining contents. Does anybody know what is going to replace it? -

That's nothing like the depth of mud I've experienced at Glastonbury! Admittedly many years ago 😂

I have just briefly spoken to somebody I know very slightly who was standing in Ulverscroft Road apparently in some distress. I asked him if he was alright. He said he didn't want to talk to someone he didn't know very well, and that the situation was complicated. I don't want to give any details which may identify him, except that he was an older man, but I am posting this here in case anybody is looking for him. He headed towards North Cross Road. If anybody who is aware of the situation wants me to delete this post, please PM me.

Do they do deliveries? There is a leaflet holder outside, but I have never seen anything in it.

Lucky you! Fingers crossed a cat hasn't got her and that you have just not been there when she is coming and going. Please let us know if/when you see her again!
