  1. Ah ok, yes it was the soft plastics I meant. Glad the bins for recycling those are still there! I sort of miss the old glass recycling places. Convenient as the collection from your door is, I used to enjoy the satisfying smashing sounds as I flung the bottles in 🤣
  2. No plastics recycling? Seriously? Is there anywhere else locally I can take it without having to go to the council place off the Old Kent Road? I haven't seen a recycling bin for plastics in M&S lately either, but the ones in Sainsbury's had more capacity, and I save mine up until I have a big load to take at once.
  3. Damn only just seen this. Tu have some gems sometimes 👍
  4. Not being funny, but if you Google the manual, make sure you spell it correctly - it's Vaillant! Also, a boiler maintenance person might be willing to tell you over the phone how to adjust the pressure, especially if you have used him/her before. It's usually quite simple provided he also tells you what the pressure should be! I can recommend Tommy Rooney https://www.trooneyheating.co.uk/about
  5. Yes, well, they were privatised, weren't they. So shareholders get the money which should be used to pay staff more and improve services to the public. Same as terrible privatised train services, privatised water companies dumping 💩 in our seas and rivers, etc etc etc.
  6. 😭😭😭 Did you complain/feed back your thoughts to them?
  7. The library is round the corner of M&S, down a little side road (I think the road is called Railway Rise). Its door isn't actually on Grove Vale. It used to be once, but that was when the library was on the other side of the road. It moved.
  8. Apparently Lloyds Direct are now merged (?) with Pharmacy2U
  9. I suggest again Lloyds Direct, as I haven't been over impressed with other local pharmacies I have tried ... Two posters outside Lloyds with rather different messages. Laugh or cry ? 😂😭
  10. What was given as the cause of the subsidence, and how was it dealt with (as it hasn't recurred)?
  11. 🤣🤣🤣
  12. I'm happy to help, but I wasn't directly involved in the actual siting, building and planting of the garden. I have a book about it which was produced afterwards. I'll see if I can find it. We just held a fundraising gig at DHFC. Can't undertake to do another one. We are running a sea song and shanty night in aid of the RNLI at The Ivy House in February.
  13. I recently had two PCNs re a ULEZ type scheme in central Bristol through which I was sadly directed by satnav. I appealed in both cases (not just blaming the satnav, but for various reasons I was totally oblivious to the fact I was supposed to be paying a charge, plus there were other factors). The appeals were both turned down, but the fines were both waived "as a goodwill gesture." Hooray! However I had to pay the two £9 charges within seven days (I think it was) of the date of service of the letters I got, both of which were sent on different days but arrived in the same post. I very narrowly avoided having to pay the fines - just scraped within the time limit of the first one and paid it on the last possible day. They had allowed two days for the letters to reach me. Hollow laugh.
  14. I have never in any context heard it referred to as "King's Hospital". "King's", yes - that's how most people would refer to it except in formal correspondence.
  15. Yes, it doesn't say much for JWilliams' journalistic skills that he can't even get the name of the hospital right, does it? 🙄
  16. I can't believe I am writing this, but on the whole my post has improved lately. I had some stuff delivered which was 24 hour tracked and posted weeks previously, however since then I have been getting things within a week, including financial and medical things, and Private Eye delivered on time. I have however also had things marked "Do Not Bend" shoved through my letterbox (bent on arrival the other side) and I had to rescue a load of magazines (for resale) in a package which the postie was trying very hard to fit through my letterbox without success. Luckily I saw him (but not in time to salvage the bent mags within the package). 😭😭😭
  17. I think the thread title doesn't presently make it clear that you are wanting comments on the council and councillors and not the borough in general?
  18. Did they ever find her?
  19. 😭😭😭
  20. I am going to the chemist opposite Nunhead Green which does walk in appointments. Easier than trying to get to places at a particular time, given that none of them are in East Dulwich.
  21. I'm sure I had last year's Covid jab at The Gardens (asked for and was given it at the same time as my flu jab). I'm absolutely sure I've never had one anywhere else, and I was hoping to have one at the same time as a forthcoming face to face appointment for something else But the receptionist insists they have "never done Covid jabs". Has anyone else ever had one at this surgery, or is my memory even worse than I thought?!
  22. If you change from windows to apple,do you then have to change from an Android phone to an iPhone?
  23. 😡😡😡
