  1. Ok. I'm 5 days in. It's going ok. Thought I would update with some small tips for anyone reading this with a view to starting potty training soon. It's helpful if your kid already knows how to pull their trousers down and up by themselves. Also, people say "pull your trousers down". That's confusing to children, because in reality you want them to push their trousers down. A small thing but it made the difference to my child.
  2. Go to Ile de Re. Check it out. Lots of campsites. Good weather.
  3. We are about to start. Obviously I've read a few bits. Any dos or donts from your experience?
  4. You can buy a bulk load of second hand action figures or cars or whatever on eBay. The volume and variety should lead to hours of imaginary play. Cheap as chips too.
  5. They are attached to the pavement.
  6. Northeast view and Keane, I feel you. Unfortunately, this thread is also headed in the wrong direction. For the same reason. The forum can be tiresome in this way. People be people.
  7. Hi, we've been. You don't have to wear a costume at all. Lots of people aren't in costume. Although it does add to the experience.
  8. My sister wants to visit with her 3 year old and husband6-8th Aug. My house is too small so we are looking for cheap options nearby. The accommodation on Airbnb is a little pricey, even uni halls is over ?100 per night. Anyone have any ideas?
  9. My babysitter charges ?7 an hour. We choose to pay ?10. I guess you pay whatever you can afford and think is fair.
  10. Not quite campervans but Canopy and Stars is a great site for camping alternatives.
  11. It's not too bad actually. We do the blackout thing and on holiday we just buy some foil. A bit of water on the window and the foil sticks for weeks and is applied quickly and removed easily. 12. As pipb wanted a tutor potentially, I suspect she wants her child to learn how to speak French. Meaning French is not her or her child's first language. So a group for French natives might be a bit intimidating.
  13. We have them. Bought them for the same purpose. They do not blackout at all. A little light gets through each slat and round the edges. Mmwe have ended up with blackout blinds and shutters. They look great. So get them for look, not for light blocking.
  14. Maybe in the stress of the moment he lost your address or number? What had you agreed with him?
  15. Mostly cut flowers. Some plants but not the focus. Lots of decorative pieces like ribbon, pinecones etc too.
  16. Yes I've been to New Covent Garden at Vauxhall. It's an interesting walk around. Bargains to be had.
  17. We always stay at Mama Shelter. Very quirky. Artists live on site. We have specifically travelled to Paris for their spectacular Sunday brunch. Even if you don't stay, you should go for the brunch. Very cool, adult, local and not touristy.
  18. I've been reading about Simplicity Parenting and would like to get my son more involved in nature and simpler environments, beaches, rivers, nature. Obviously there are local options like the park and Dulwich Woods. I was wondering if anyone knows of some good trips or destinations available by local rail (Denmark Hill, Peckham Rye, Forest Hill). That aren't day trips, just maybe a morning out etc.
  19. Hi Ags, sorry to hear this. I can't help I'm afraid but just wanted to say how difficult having kids can be on a relationship. It's a true test. Best of luck and good wishes.
  20. Huge, my whole 2 bed house (1 toilet) is 72sq metres.
  21. Doesn't look like a small flat to me. I'm from London. That's a big flat.
  22. Ive never seen a small flat with double toilets. A small office? Yes. Not a small flat. I have no comment on the application itself but let's not make up stuff so we have more to whinge about.
  23. I had three and this never happened (mine were John Lewis)
  24. Apology accepted. We can't be expected to know all things at all times. 25. Emmeline Pankhurst and Martin Luther King might not agree with you. DulwichFox Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > Things never change for the better.. > > DulwichFox.
