  1. Another vote for the Lister Centre in Peckham. Had to take a neighbour's ill wife there in his absence and they were brilliant, we were seen fairly quickly too. I was really impressed with the service as had expected to wait aaaaaaages.
  2. apparently the :)-D are on me see you in The Great Exhibition on Friday 30 March :))
  3. Ok - so say you've lived in East Dulwich/surrounding area (SE London) for a while now. What would you really miss most if you had to leave it all behind for a year or so?
  4. 'When did banter become flirting?' When did banter become (tantamount to) bullying? personally, I think its the modus operandi thats what's made people (myself included) think of BBW; don't think anyone has been particularly unwelcoming to GingerB either...
  5. Does anyone want to gently break the news to Michael Palaeologus (Chief Bhuna) or shall I do it?
  6. you could always have popped in before your manicure...

An active online forum. What an amazing stroke of serendipity!!!
  8. Wetherspoons hasn't yet arrived in ED GingerB, but give it time. I reckon it'll be here before W_______.

  10. ....they look round, soft and pleasingly smooth to the touch. And I'm sure they taste delicious too (after all, she's an amazing cook and can do wonderful things with them) but I tend to switch off when its just about the mangoes. That's all.
  11. anyone else sick of hearing about Shelina's mangoes?

That's what I thought as well KK. There hasn't been a folkmafia sing-along at the CPT for so long it seems odd to bring it up but fair enough if you don't like it and want assurance that the new owners don't plan to reinstate it. Personally I think backstreet boozers have never been the same since the demise of darts, table football and wet t-shirt competitions. Not necessarily on the same night.

Odd bunch that we are here in the lounge indeed. Good luck.

So all we need to do on the Waitrose "aspirational" supermarket thread is talk about other stuff and it'll get lounged. Righty ho. Back on topic, The Great Exhibition opens from 5pm this Thu :)-D
  21. Hiya - you could try the Dulwich mosque and the Islamic centre are on North Cross Road for local get togethers.

That's potential-customer input. The sing-a-long sessions in the old CPT were only once a month not every Sunday and due to the layout of the old bar, you could just as easily enjoy a drink without being part of the music if thats what you wanted. > Glad she brought it up because if there was folk > singing on a Sunday I would avoid it too - doesn't > mean I want folkies to stop having a "loverly time > the day we went to Bangor..." (stop it!) I used to think the same thing, not being a fan of folk music, but I went along to a few and each time was pleasantly surprised by how much fun singing is and I really enjoyed hearing the songs. I appreciate its not everyone's cup of tea but in a pub that didn't have many people in on a wintry Sunday evening, it must have really helped their custom. I think its lovely that we have people around who are willing to take the time to arrange this and its one of the things I like about living here.
  23. PS there's a great little market for music lovers, good prices, rare pieces and not at all COMMERCIAL. Obviously I can't divulge the name of it, sorry.
