  1. Don't do it ????, it's an ambush!
  2. The wish list is: Sushi Bar Book Shop Sex Shop Cop Shop Record Shop Any takers?
  3. I once saw a friend stop to pick up a towel to mop their brow whilst running on a treadmill. I wet myself for weeks everytime I saw him.
  4. I used to be quite anti Disney. When I hesitantly took my son to Disneyworld in the US my cynicism melted away within seconds. His face was a picture and the fact that he had the most memorable time meant everything to me. Thoroughly recommend it. My second son is the loudest thing in SE22. The neighbours often remark on how they can hear him. They haven't called the Social yet but I hope they can cope when No 3 also gets in fine voice.
  5. I read somewhere that 2 children per week under the age of 15 die in the UK as a result of abuse. That's over 100 a year. Neighbours can help but I think those instances where they obviously get it wrong or over react are fairly rare. It seems more likely that people are too scared to say anything and that is compounded with the ineptitude of Social Services and other depts that don't talk to each other.
  6. Series 2 & 3 just thudded onto the doormat, so anybody want to borrow Series 1 just PM me. All in the game yo, all in the game.
  7. Out of Swedes. Will you accept a South African (minus a toe nail)?
  8. PGC, can you download the "Medieval" Carling Black Label Ad featuring Ron Atkinson. It's one of my favourites and I can't find it anywhere :( (I'll give you one Turnip and a Guinea Pig in exchange)
  9. LOL. I laughed early yesterday morning when the "expert" financial pundits said, "Oh no, the Fed won't bring in rate cuts early. That would signal a panic." Isn't it also amusing how the so called highly paid, hugely bonused, financial experts in the worlds big banks have all screwed up big time to the tune of billions being written of as bad debt and billions being wiped of the stock markets. I reckon the average housewife would do a better job.
  10. How many do you need? Is a combustion engined vehicle acceptable or shall I make several trips by rucksack?
  11. Uck me AllforNun! Whats all this Pannettone talk? You're fast turning into a poncey East Dullite. Get back over The Rye to your stale Black Cake before you start sending us detailed Chip shop reviews.
  12. Let me know when you'd like your hod filled ;-)
  13. CWALD - its the crazed mutterings of a certain Hollywood local who can shake Cocktails at The Dog.
  14. Safer Neighbourhoods Definitely a good idea to use these numbers for less serious stuff.
  15. If you've got a few minutes here are a collection of rarely seen funny ads - rated 15;-) Funny ads
  16. I can give you some bricks in exchange for eggs :))
  17. CWALD you'll be fine, but if a stranger wearing a black polo neck comes up to you and starts prattling on about KSW, SP and LOH technology. . . RUNNNNNNNNNN!!!!! *Corrected by L. Ron Hubbard
  18. . . . and giant burning SNUB bag . . .
  19. MP, a month without the car? Were they pimping your ride?
  20. CWALD, the Sofa Bike makes sense but a uni-cycle with trailer is suicide!
  21. If this thread was a fish I'd throw it back! Let's not forget why this thread was important in the first place. The Sea Cow is one of many establishments that most of us enjoy and part of what makes ED a little different to every other cloned high street in the country. If it was Cheese Block serving up minging Stinking Bishop there'd be a thread about it. Similarly if The Bishop served warm flat beer there'd be a thread demanding we boycott it and drink at the CPT. Why? Because a lot of us care. The Sea Cow have screwed up but they've also taken it on the chin and are earning brownie points because they're prepared to do something about it. When Sea Cow is frying on all cylinders, it really is something special and I for one hope they can get it right again. Louisa it might not be to your taste but you cant ignore the bottom line, to quote Sean, "We have the option to go either or." Emily's, Sema's, Olleys, Jolly Bee, Sea Cow. They appeal to different people for different reasons, be it the food, price or staff. If they stop cutting it then they're out of business.
  22. Not necessarily a great ad but definitely a great campaign
  23. Thanks ratty but it wasn't my intention to sound the bugle retreat. Far from it. I love London for all its faults and everything thats blindingly good about it. My point was simply that in my experience (and throughout human history) teenagers always kick up, but the worrying trend today is the increase in knife and gun crime amongst teenagers whether or not it results in a death. I think it was 26 teenagers (far too many) that were shot or stabbed to death in London in 2007. 26 out of 2,000,000* teenagers in London. Our kids are more likely to die from obesity, be run over, commit suicide, contract cancer or heart disease than be stabbed or shot dead. In fact overall the mortality rate in London is diminishing over time, so it's quite likely they'll live well into their 80's or beyond. The level and motivation of violence amongst our teens is not unique to this city. We need to acknowledge the problems and influence the future not ignore it. *2,000,000 is a wild guess. Anyone know what the true pop is?
  24. Does it taste more fishy and therefore need to be disguised in a curry, fishpie/cake etc? (Stupid question but you know what I mean.)
  25. In terms of both hospitals I'm sure they've both got excellent facilities. Had my last two at Kings (the first at West Middx). Both came into the world with unforeseen complications and the delivery staff were excellent. I've never known a maternity ward that wasn't too hot, too noisy, too crowded etc. The ward staff do seem to be overworked and under resourced and of course the food is crap. If you don't go private then get your other half to bring in food, drink and musical entertainment and MOST IMPORTANTLY an extra pillow from home. I'd recommend having a look around beforehand but at the end of the day it's the nurses, consultants and midwives that make the difference and you'll hear good and bad stories from both hospitals.
