  1. We'll make an exception this time. Your wish is granted >:D< I wish Foxtons on LL could be transformed into a sushi bar / music venue
  2. But then Switzerland is accidentally nuked by the Americans who mistake it for Syria. Wish I owned a 1962 Ferrari 250 GTO
  3. A final hit - Leftfield
  4. philadelphia edited for spelling
  5. THAT kind of cardigan. Yes I had one of those wrapped around me in me youth.
  6. whats a cardigan? Oh, maybe I'm not old enough.
  7. but unfortunately you were swimming in the reservoir as the container pinned you to a dumped Sainsbury's trolley and crushed you to death wish I was sipping a cold Peroni in Tuscany
  8. But you are drinking a rather smooth Chablis
  9. I think there's a daily limit on the cash machines for your protection! R500? Don't know if it's changed since I was last there. Food, Petrol and car hire is really cheap as is accommodation. Get hold of one of these Portfolio b&b guides for when you tour around SA.
  10. and discovered your legs had been amputated instead. I wish I knew next weekends lottery numbers
  11. d_c sorry not saying you're racist just an observation on changing attitudes. The You tube clip is funny but I don't think it's truly representative. It wouldn't be too difficult to film the same sort of thing in the UK. My experience of american friends on the East and West coast is that they are just as savvy as our Londoners (almost). Let's also not forget that when Bush was elected, the US were effectively split 50/50.
  12. The Superzoom function is very impressive. Never noticed that Tank firing range behind the Target Arms before.
  13. When I was a nipper it was the Irish. But of course we don't do rascist abuse anymore . . . . unless its the Yanks.
  14. OR unless it's Yilmaz . . . I may have to go in soon for a meat feast..
  15. . . . . tumbleweed rolls past . . . . . . . . all eyes in Domitanus' direction . . . .
  16. KK its definitely worth a visit. It's not your everyday pub so I wouldn't go in for just a quick drink but instead book a table for 2* and sample the whole Palmerston experience. Having said that it might not be to your taste, but at least you'd have an opinion. *Remind Dom to bring the Anchor Cream
  17. Keef do you know why the CPT is proving hard to sell? Is it the sale price in relation to trading profit? If that's the case then surely it would make sense for the owner to make an effort to please a few potential punters and increase turnover = best selling price.
  18. and then send him the photo . . . . after he's left.
  19. CWALD, I've done the same and it's true, not being a South African and having the right attitude will get you into a lot of no go areas. However, I'd never recommend it because it doesn't take much for things to go wrong. If you really must go, it's good to be with a local or at least know somebody living in the Township. Same rules for visiting some rough estate in Manchester. Don't just stroll in with a camera like you're in the Zoo. A memorable experience I once had was attending a wedding in Soweto.
  20. Funny how those stories are always about a work colleague or someone you know ;-)
  21. PE = Port Elizabeth. Nice people but not a very exciting place. I'll PM you.
  22. LTP-Its a little over hyped in the press but that's not to say you shouldn't keep your wits about you as you would in London. I've done that route plus lived there for 3 years so I can tell you all about it in more detail over a coffee. Bottom line is you're a tourist so you will stick out. Don't flash your possessions around, don't go anywhere that your instincts say no to and basically just use your common sense. No need for the flame thrower equipped Beamer, it's a great country and you'll have a wicked time - apart from the PE bit!
  23. Not sure what you're point is PR. Are you saying you find it difficult to drive safely because you're overloaded with too much information? Or are you advocating the banning of all speed limits and suggesting that we leave it to personal judgement? What's your view on road safety and how to reduce accidents? You can park your bike between my cheeks if you like.
