  1. S dniom razhdjenia Tillie!
  2. He was the original Puffed Daddy.
  3. Considering some of the past 'entertaining' posts I've read in here I'm surprised at how gloaten free this thread is after such a grudge match. Personally I'm biased towards London clubs but I can't complain about the result in this case. Shame as a closer match would've been more entertaining.
  4. Nero wouldn't a nationalised bicycle industry be a better option?
  5. I know a shareholder who's losing a sizeable pile on this as their shares become worthless. They bought on the advice of a fund manager who advised (last year) that a better spread should include more stable banking stock ala Northern Rock. Now other speculators who bought stock in the last couple of weeks in anticipation of RB succeeding will also lose everything. I wonder if the next chapter on this farce will be a legal battle with the disenfranchised shareholders?
  6. HIV is a killer. Perhaps a ?10 licence before you can have sex would save lives too? I'll show you mine, if you show me yours!
  7. I managed to fashion a receptor dish out of an old dustbin lid and a brolly skeleton. Connected it to my Digibox and pointed it towards Dawson Heights to pick up any reflected signals from Crystal Palace and now get a perfect picture on freeview. Occasionally goes fuzzy on the BidUp TV channel when the woman in flat 73 turns the chip fryer on.
  8. MP I've had to reach for the dictionary at least three times today because of you (still can't find fascinae). I met one of the residents in question the other day outside Bells. I wouldn't want to be a neighbour if the above is true, certainly didn't look friendly but then again I didn't feel threatened either. If the problem is so bad then surely the residents can get together and pressure the relevant authorities (housing association, police, social services) etc rather than coming out with all this Goose Green pillary nonsense. Doesn't put you in a much better light. MW I hope you get over the lead poisoning.
  9. Thanks Ant. Spencer this is up there.
  10. Flying Nuns. Flying Pants. Reminds me of some humorous photos by a fellow forumite. Can't remember who it was but it had me in stitches. Any ideas Ant?
  11. That would be freaky Alan. Since we are approaching the zenith of human (unaided) athletisism and records being broken by hundredths this will certainly make it more interesting. Let's also introduce other incentives like a 10,000 volt electric shock to make athletes jump higher and run faster. That would be fun for spectators. Come to think of it why not bring on the games at the Wembley Coliseum. We could pit Scientologists against the buggy pushers.
  12. Sending hug vibes your way:))
  13. Well that's in favour of Alan's argument which makes more sense than its ok to do drugs as long as you serve the ban when you get caught. Keef I agree. I always cheat, just haven't been caught yet.
  14. You are so right. Similarly somebody who's open about their past and putting themself forward to the public to decide is not comparable to somebody that achieved his status through cheating in a field where purity of body is everything. Btw you can buy clean piss in the US for about $20.
  15. So by the same token if Ian Huntley was released after 25 years (enough time to be rehabed) would it be ok for him to publish his memoirs and benefit from it even though he hadn't killed any little girls in that time? Also, you may be aware that there are already many politicians who have been convicted of offences and are still in office. I don't think CWALD will ever be elected to Prime Minister (but I might be wrong), if she was it would be because the public felt she had the right qualities to run the country. Dwayne has been out of the country and out of athletics for a couple of years without any drug tests. Who's to know he's still not been playing the system? I'd be happier knowing that an athlete representing the ideals of this country and the Olympics had achieved that position in a deserved fashion. It's an incredible honour and his exclusion means someone else's exclusion medal or not. But then we have a history of handing out passports in another desperate bid to tenuously clinch medals on the world stage. I bet you'd feel differently if the Chinese Table Tennis Champion was a known drugs cheat and their inclusion at Beijing further reduced our country's chance of a Ping Pong medal. * edited for poor grammar due to drug abuse
  16. I don't think it's hypocritical. Regarding CWALD, she has experience of real life issues which many politicians simply don't have. She also displays a huge amount of honesty which again a lot of politicians don't. But if a politician was found to be corrupt/dishonest whilst IN PUBLIC OFFICE I wouldn't expect them to be re-elected. Similarly Dwayne is not fit for purpose as far as representing this country. However, I would certainly be in favour of him being involved in a sports program that helped encourage young and upcoming athletes not to do the drugs route. You wouldn't get in a Taxi with a driver known to have caused a death through reckless driving. Paedophiles are barred from working with kids. Why should a known drugs cheat that still has the muscle development derived from banned substances be allowed to compete and benefit against other athletes who took the harder route to success?

I remember reading a while back that this is quite big in the US, mainly amongst the gay community. I don't think it's caught on in France yet.
  18. Doesn't seem morally right to me. Just because he's done his punishment it doesn't necessarily follow that he's fit to represent this country. Would you hesitate to hire a convicted armed robber as a security guard even though he'd already served his time? There are many jobs that are closed to people with a previous criminal conviction.
  19. Quite cheap compared to East Dulwich. Must be the location.
  20. Sorry double post
  21. But how can you have a real relationship with anyone close without trust? Surely that would be more disappointing?
  22. Even close friends and family? Surely not good advice?
  23. The butcher Libretto and Daughter in Woodvale does great home made sausages. William Rose have quite a large range. Haven't tried the butchers stall in Northcross Rd but it gets some good endorsements from EDFers.
  24. There was someone on the radio this morning from East Dulwich (Andrea I think) saying how wonderful the No 12 bendy bus is. I don't use buses very often but did use the No12 late one night from Charing X Rd and was quite impressed with the speed on that route.
  25. I woke up from a dreaming this morning about being in "Hamsterdam" Baltimore (The Wire) and having to photograph 'Preposition Joe' with someone else's camera which didn't work. Fortunately he was in a good mood because of the street party. Thankfully Omar didn't turn up!
