  1. If anyone fancies a pint at the Castle in addition to the official EDF drinks night I'd be happy to join them. I haven't tried the Castle yet but I am partial to a good Guinness and if its anything like the Railway in Catford then I wont be disappointed. So who's up for it?
  2. Are Chelsea fans welcome there?

    The Vale

We're not all cynical. But since when did the Pope drink at the Vale?
  4. From the size of your woofers you're lucky it wasn't subsidence>:D
  5. Where's a good local pub that's showing the Chelsea game on Wed?
  6. Well this would stop you snoring. Have a look at the item 'Plane narrowly avoids disaster' in the Video and Audio News section. Obviously not if you're about to catch a flight. Sorry cant do link direct to video. Mockney?
  7. Once you've got past the arse covering section a good survey will normally give you ammunition to go back and re-negotiate the selling price with the vendor. I don't buy pristine property so I usually get my money back from a survey. For a Hoemebuyer's survey I can recommend Burnett, Ware and Graves in Peckham and for a full structural M H Associates in Half Moon Lane.
  8. Keef, I've got a used penis extension I could sell you for a fiver.
  9. I knew Jo Brand had a car in East Dulwich.
  10. Why just penalise the estate agents? They are partly responsible for marketing ED and attracting those with disposable incomes that have contributed to the gentrification that we mostly enjoy. If you're going to penalise anyone then perhaps it should be: a) households with more than 2 cars b) multi storey addresses with cars in excess of the number of dwellings c) commuters who don't live in the borough of Southwark d) residents who convert their front gardens to water repellent parking bays e) people who park smack in the middle of a space that could accommodate two cars f) any non commercial vehicle with a wheelbase longer than a Mondeo estate
  11. PR you can get your personal Lanyard here. ????, that is a very measured, white, middle class response. You'll be agreeing with Sean next. Oh. You already have!
  12. 1) The Herne 2) Oriwisu Spot
  13. SteveT I was there in spirit! Besides, my baby was in hospital.
  14. You can get the first round in then :))
  15. I'm happy to go with the majority and the Herne (SE22 postcode) is good for me. Has EDF already favoured The Black Cherry and Clockhouse?
  16. Is there such a think as automotive nimbyism? nimps? How can it be OK for a local car owner to park without restriction but not a local car owner who needs their vehicle to make a living? If local businesses can't generate revenue then the local economy will decline unless perhaps this is preferable method of generating parking spaces?
  17. If you talk to any landlord, especially in London, they will tell you how thin the margin is in the trade. Many pubs have been affected by the double whammy of an economic slowdown and smoking ban coupled with increasing overheads. If they are unable to increase volumes to survive then the only other alternative is to hike prices. It's far more attractive to sell to developers and become nice key worker apartments.
  18. Are you also from Nunhead?

    Eurovision

What's a Mickey Mouse country? I can only think of France outside of the USofA.
  20. Either way he's f*cked. Back on thread, was there a news black out when Prince Andrew flew heli's in The Malvena's?
  21. He wasn't on the club circuit for a while so it doesn't take a genius to work out that he was either in Afghanistan or stuck in Chelsea.
  22. I agree with Jon Snow. Didn't the west fight in 2 world wars and now the Middle East in order to protect our freedom, democracy AND freedom of speech including a free press? The soldiers in Afghanistan that are in conflict with insurgents, warlords, poppy barons and the Taliban are in danger regardless of the press reporting on HRH or not. I don't think the press should have been gagged. If it was that important to protect a heir to the throne then a) he shouldn't have been allowed to join the army and b) he should've been kept from the front line. IMO this is just PR for the Royals and propoganda for the MOD and the government.
  23. What or who is a green energy supplier? Do the big co's generate a percentage from sustainable sources like Hydro? Apart from installing an expensive wind turbine and solar panel on the roof (which won't power a lot and takes at least 15 years to recoup cost) what are the practical alternatives?
  24. Luca9853, it's a great spot with loads of character. Solid Victorian housing stock, handy for ED and Peckham Rye Stn, close to open green space and some interesting shops, restaurants and cafe's in Bellenden Rd. If that's not enough you're a short walk to the world famous Lordship Lane! Which part of ED are you moving from?
  25. Just had a chat with a couple of CW's that I bumped into on LL. Mentioned the 'Cigar-Lane' incident which they remembered clearly with a chuckle. Apparently they nearly had to issue another fine for fouling the pavement;-)
