Quick tip - cat litter can help with traction when moving off if your/others car gets stuck. Either buy a cheap sack and leave in boot, or in extremis knock on doors!

Just been out. Lots of black ice on side roads; pavements pretty treacherous. Murco petrol station on ED Road are selling thermal gloves (men's & women's) for ?3.50 if anyone needs them. Just bought a pair - very toasty.

Alas I don't have a pic, but a chap rolled two huge snow tyres and attached to each end of a bench on the Rye to make a snow motorbike for his wee daughter. A charming sight.

I think it's a silly stereotype about WIs and chicken but I would have interepreted the 'difficult situation' as WIs slaughtering Aussies at cricket. But maybe that's just wishful thinking!

Aren't there plans to have an amphitheatre in Peckham Rye Park? Should have thought this would be great for outdoor plays. Connecting the obsolete fountain, which is extremely unattractive, would be a lovely idea. -
Two comments from me this morning that stick in my craw: Well done Australia. [golly, that hurt]. WTF with the ball tampering? Stopping a ball with a foot is a fine if lazy instinct, but grinding it is too much like grit in the pocket. If we can't win without cheating, I don't want to win.
