  1. Last time I looked the difference between 55 and 47 was eight. I'm not fussy, Krug will do.
  2. S'alright, Rosie, diamonds are a perfectly acceptable alternative. You will be able to point him in the direction of Cartier's finest 1930s settings
  3. That's a poor reference section for a library then.
  4. Are you Nick Hornby in disguise?
  5. Don't panic - I have a wind-up radio and some water purification tablets.
  6. Not silly - don't be silly. I'm sure if a friendly Admin or Moderator is going they could arrange something with you. PS - Admin - will you do an annual reminder please, I can't remember when I last bought you a drink?
  7. Katie, if you look at the bottom right of the EDF screen, you will find a donate button.
  8. There are some beautiful Camellias around at the moment - don't know when they are supposed to bloom.
  9. Are you suggesting I have intercourse with my diamonds and coal scuttle?
  10. Sloppy work people. If you mean sexual intercourse, please define it as such.
  11. Stewards please Chair - this is all veering away from the OP. I've sat on my hands a lot during this thread - please lounge it then I can let rip.
  12. What a delicious piece of journalism.
  13. Thank heavens my Nana Miskouri tape is safe.
  14. Daizie has a point, St Valentine is connected with courtly or romantic love - probably not encouraged between father and daughters outside the Appalachian region. Gifts from your children to their Dad is a wonderful and charming notion but you don't need to wait for a special day to show that, why not have an impromptu Father as Guest of Honour Tea Party or something? I agree with a previous poster that the ceramics option is quite fun, your toddler will be old enough to daub something herself and the baby can add the odd fingerprint.
  15. Well he is the top ranked meerkat.
  16. FFS - this is the football thread. Pistols at dawn or shaking hankies at each other needs it's own thread. Now, Mockney, what can I do to make you feel better about the New Den? Come with me on the home side and it won't seem quite so nasty. Still can't get away from the breezeblock monstrosity, but it's not so bad.
  17. Idiot question: is walking/public transport not a viable option, especially if "overwhelmingly it would seem, the students come from the local area"?
  18. I've found a water collar very successful for recall. I was walking a boxer-cross, a notoriously bright, but stubborn breed. She became instantly receptive when I let blast with the water: came back to call which was reinforced with a treat. She soon got the hang of recall. The collar has quite a good range so useful for dogs that run off.
  19. How jolly disappointing. I thought it was a site showing lots of chaps jumping out of the bath.
  20. Ratty, CB separated out the social housing from those living in blocks. I understand to an extent the problem of collecting from blocks of flats, but why especially is social housing challenging?
  21. Why is it more challenging if one is in social housing?
  22. I'm with Brendan, bit of a waste of time to go shopping on a stag do. But you could run into a department store and lose your pursuers, change togs and run out another door.
  23. Used my crappy binos on it and it is amazing.
  24. Well the sun must have been over the yardarm somewhere - my bet's on Singapore.
