  1. My daughter's friend was mugged at Peckham Rye station. She was asked for the time and pulled out her mobile 'phone which was then snatched. Transport police on hand plus CCTV but nothing came of it. Please coach your children to say they don't have a watch and not to reveal a 'phone.
  2. My two experiences at The Green were fine. In both cases I was being treated to lunch and it was a pleasure. Perhaps it's not so busy then?
  3. Excuse me chaps - hold on to your hats. There was no racist comment and none intended. I think you must be very weird to see what was admittedly a personal pop, due to my sick sense of humour at someone I don't know, as racist. Since I have no idea of his ethnic/national background and never gave it a thought as I assumed he was a salt of the earth yeoman I think you need to retract this statement.
  4. If you're craving Bounties me wonders what else was imbibed last night?
  5. "Give me the boy and I will give you the man"? - a Jesuit actually. MP - what's jet set willy and is that fitting for a troop of boys?
  6. Only available in D cup!
  7. I do sympathise with this point. The Baptist church in Amott Road belts out amplified music/singing on a Sunday afternoon when I'm curled up with a book and wanting peace and quiet. I've often been tempted to call out the noise team but suspect this may be a little below the belt - especially since my lot probably contribute to the racket on a Sunday morning in Rye Lane. Any suggestions?
  8. Cheats never prosper Keef. Shame on you. PS - inject concrete.
  9. Not half! Some mega-sized ones this year.
  10. Spooky - now I've signed the petition I've received two PMs from Tessa Jowell!
  11. Mike b said: "Do we have any MPs actually living in the area that might care about this?" You're havin' a laugh, surely.
  12. Never had a prob. to date getting into town by train/bus/bike and shank's pony
  13. Don't laugh at me cos I'm a fool [ed: spelling - too much wine]
  14. Eileen can be very irritating/narrow minded but I'm with her on the tram thing. Where they propose to put the terminus would wipe out an integral part of Peckham including artisans studios, historic buildings and several churches, which might be a good thing in some folk's books, but I think would be an absolute shame. We've already destroyed all the art deco buildings in Peckham - let's leave something for the future.
  15. Hear, hear. I love GLR/London Live but could never stand that ******** Gaunt.
  16. My experience of Peckham police is that they are lovely. Various encounters over the years from drunken (and inadvertent naked exposure but we'll gloss over that) and professional contact. There are some jobsworths but a lot of them are truly caring and jolly nice.
  17. Exquisite taste Cap'n.
  18. Couple of the shots (4 and last one) look rather like the streets around Pepys Road, New Cross. Shot 3 looks like one of the streets of Meeting House Lane/Friary Road area. Just guesses I'm afraid.
  19. Which is where Bodicea is buried having topped herself on Peckham Rye if you believe the legends.
  20. As long as they don't go for East Peckham which is currently a very pretty village in Kent
  21. Briliant reporting Anotherpaul - I was in the room with you.
  22. Wishing Well usually good for football, don't know about rugby.
  23. First two look like Heygate flats just near East Street, Walworth. Last two look like Hilly Fields, Brockley. ???
