  18. "As a reference to the Felix the Cat character, the term "Poindexter" is now applied to people who are overly nerdy, geeky, or bookish." Wikipedia Dear Poinsettia Your cynicism does you no credit. How do churches make their money from children [parents] going to a church school? Please tell cos I work for a church and this sounds like a great scam. We must have a belfry or something that needs your funds (cheques made to Peckhamgatecrasher/Barbados Fund please).
  19. I wasn't too impressed either when I took a friend. V. sweet waiter but completely inept. Waited so long for coffee (sos but I don't like tea). Cakes arrived 20 mins after a long wait, before her tea and then my coffee. Lovely surroundings but wasted when I woz gasping for a cup.
  20. Sorry chaps but I ordered virgin cable and had it installed exactly when they said. I'm in Adys Rd and couldn't get a signal with a booster arial (wonky BBC1, ITV ok and others variable). Also can't get DAB radio to work in any room. My bro has a theory that it bounces back off the tall school building. Virgin did everything they promised for me. I'm b*&&?red when analogue finally goes - how do I get my radio fix?
  21. Never had a problem but then my cat isn't a fussy eater.
  22. Have comb, paper and candle in case of blackout.
  23. Popped in this evening. V. v. sweet people running it. Some curios in the way of fairtrade stuff and persian rose petal pot pourri (slight exagerration for alliterative effect). Some good, tasteful flowers (? - ? as in why in a deli?). The rest wasn't particularly exciting except for some rather yummy looking chocolate brownies. Nothing offensive however - God bless 'em and all who sail in 'em.
  24. New deli in Bellenden Rd, Peckham sells fairtrade shoppers for ?1.50. Similar to Sainsbury's 'hessian' bags but without the advertising.
