  1. Cat Weazel. Can't find a 'youtube' link - can anyone else please?
  2. There are old primary schools in St James Road, Nunhead, and Choumert Road, Peckham which are both now Southwark Adult Education Centres (or whatever the current PC term is). No idea what classes they are running but you could probably track down the curricula on the internet. www.southwark.gov.uk is the main website.
  3. The pub can't be held responsible for what its clientele says, though if it did happen, it is horrid. Is it true they charge 12.5% service - and wield the silver trays for tips? That seems a trifle greedy.
  4. 'scuse my ignorance, and don't want to open a can of worms, but what happened to this? I've just read this thread for first time and think a logo would be fun. I like Hugenot's design. Why don't we use it?
  5. Louisa I park at the Fox on the Hill pub car park if I need to go to Kings. Probably not supposed to as I'm not a patron (once put me off but that's for another thread), but never had a problem to date.
  6. Enters room: gasps and makes obeisance to the exquisite DM. Bows lowly in awe of Asset's erudition. Ah, to be in the same room ...
  7. Tried the squeezy stuff at work yesterday. Tastes the same, though of a thinner consistency - convenient but not as satisfying. Just not cricket. [MP - wash your mouth out with marmite]
  8. Hi - I meant it was mildly diverting while lying wide awake in bed - to think that I could contribute to this thread in a meaningful way. No I don't fly - complete coward. (see thread on dentists)
  9. 4.20 am yesterday morning was the first - joy for an insomniac!
  10. Though the clearance service from Southwark Council is good, the limit one may use it is 15 times. I think I'm fast approaching that number ...
  11. Great question - I was similarly done in Bermondsey while the attendant's car was illegally parked.
  12. Brendan said: ?Wraarrf! Wraarrf!? ?What?s that girl? You pushed little Timmy down the well because he is a fascist pawn of the oppressive system?? I hope you don't mean Timmy the dog (belonging to George) - that would be the whole of my childhood down the said well.
  13. I remember when the three concordes flew on their last flight. I was driving up Blackheath Hill at the time and fortunately all the other drivers shared my emotions - we all stopped to watch. V.V lump in throat time.
  14. Shame on you asset - you'll give DM an attack of the vapours!
  15. What I love about 'Southwark Life' is that it is always delivered after two thirds of the events have happened. Perhaps it's an experiment in deja vu?
  16. Apart from a greasy spoon in Nunhead, there is no good cafe there. You might do better trade - not that you wouldn't be welcome in East Dulwich but there is more competition.
  17. albescent ordure - poetic enough DM? - ah that takes me back ...
  18. I've had hearty peasant food of the coq au vin type (albeit at not peasant prices) at the french gaffe in Lordship Lane - can't remember what it's called but looks like an old butcher's shop.
  19. Until forced to run to the wee loo
  20. I pick up after my dog's poo! What I object to is americanisms. Last time I looked there were pavements in East Dulwich.
  21. Sean Straight up. Genuine recommendation - he is very, very good. I have been known to punch a dentist from the prone position such is my fear (at a posh practice in Clapham) - wouldn't dream of touching Keillan.
  22. Sean I can recommend Keillan at the dentist surgery in Station Approach by Peckham Rye Station. I am a complete coward and he is fab - lovely, gentle Irish chappie who accepts my quaking quirks. Only down side is the premises are grotty, but that doesn't detract from the treatment.
  23. I can provide tasteful curtains and hops from my back garden. What about a site visit to Cumbria?
  24. Probably result of taking some pot
  25. Exits balconey and throws hands up in horror. M. Keef seems to be about to shoot Sir Harry Llewellyn's faithful steed ...
