  1. Don't worry about offending Quids - his team doesn't count.
  2. This could be enough to get Brendan out of retirement!
  3. Unfortunately, last year there was no official wreath at C. Old Cemetery which is surprising when you consider that there is a VC recipient buried there (albeit by lottery).
  4. weak too?
  5. Sorry to hear of your accident MsD - hope you recover from the shock. As one who has whinged about that crossing in the past, I have to admit that since the raised/coloured section of road has been put in, motorists have been far more considerate about pedestrians. Not all, but a significant number now stop at the edge of the new section and allow pedestrians to cross safely.
  6. I would like to have a street named before we. Or maybe just avant nous.
  7. Stiff summing-up from the judge. Good man. Part of me feels very sorry for Amir, all that promise down the drain. Pakistan Corruption Trial
  8. Just walked up Ondine Road, one of the roads in the proposed CPZ. I counted 11 empty spaces (albeit one of them would only accommodate a Mini). And I only thought to start counting once I was a third of the way up the road. That would suggest that it's not a commuter parking problem.
  9. Way out, man!
  10. Hear, hear, Loz. I don't agree with everything James does but I do admire him for his dedication and the work he does, especially considering the amount of grief he takes on this forum.
  11. Isn't it time you buggered off again Quids?
  12. This is a naive question, but why wasn't a compass stuck on the map at ED Station and a circle drawn for the proposed CPZ? That would seem fairer than random roads being included/excluded.
  13. My beef is that I live less than 100 yards from the end of the zone. At tricky times (school drop off/pick up/funerals/weddings) I often park in Ondine. Why does the top half of Ondine Road even come into station commuter parking - it's nowhere near it? Since this will have a knock on effect on Adys Road, I cynically predict that our street will become a CPZ after not very long.
  14. Guy in there told me his boss had told him they would be there for three months then back to Brighton.
  15. Please, someone put me out of my misery - this has been bugging me for days.
  16. Aha! Tis true, I've only been on board for the last two series. Anyone want to lend me the boxed sets then?
  17. Can anyone tell me what Mr Darcy was doing at the end of Spooks yesterday? Most distracting from my sobfest.
  18. 'That' question follows the word If. I assumed that wasn't a foregone conclusion. If it is, I'd like the chance to change my response too. @James Barber You said it would become a problem with increased number of house fronts being paved over. Surely dropped kerbs are subject to planning permission from the Council at which point it would be easy for permission to be denied.
  19. Thanks for the heads up Moos. I didn't really pay much attention to this thread as I naively thought the streets affected were near the station. This proposal would have a huge impact on my street and no doubt would be next in the council's sights.
  20. I bagsy the Grosvenor Square gaff. I'll even pay the congestion charge.
  21. I was part of the pilot scheme and did point this out in another thread somewhere.
  22. Cheap cat litter in small bowls on windowsill.
