  1. Longer double-yellows to improve sight lines is a great idea, and one that could benefit LL and especially the bend by Kwik Fit on Grove Vale, where poor parking forces cars and buses onto the wrong side of the road and unnecessary congestion.
  2. But this driver crashed because he(she) overcooked it pulling out of a side road. It looked like aggressive driving, but the impact was no greater than 20-25mph. No camera would stop that.
  3. A black 2002 BMW 3-series with flashy alloys. Looked like it pulled out of underhill too fast, or aquaplaned.
  4. No, might be more of this going on: http://cms.met.police.uk/news/arrests_and_charges/theft_or_taking_of_a_motor_vehicle/mercedes_stolen_to_order
  5. Saw them passing through Peckham, by the Rye.
  6. Charity shop = shop least likely to have sophisticated CCTV.
  7. One at 9-ish, just off LL. Seemed embarrassed to be there. Told politely to bugger off.
  8. Didn't look like much from where I was passing, but yes, it was one of three accidents in the area and two fatalities involving motorbikes: http://southeasteleven.blogspot.com/2010/10/another-accident-on-kennington-park.html
  9. Camberwell New Road was cordoned off from Brixton Road to Vassell Road including John Ruskin Street, with police shooing everyone away. Saw an ambulance park up at the junction of John Ruskin Street, but didn't see any smashed cars. Seemed a bit over the top to shut the entire road down, unless it was someone running around with a gun or a knife.
  10. Zephyr is correct.
  11. I think blocking it from LL to the junction of Felbrigg would be a good compromise, allowing traffic to flow from CP road to LL via Shawbury, Hansler and Whateley roads.
  12. No, but I want to buy cheap, low grade poisons.
  13. I don't mind and my road could be affected by extra parking and traffic. As long, as Cllr Barber says, the market doesn't eventually take over the area. And as long as it doesn't usher in parking restrictions, like that no-go area Northcote Road, Clapham.
  14. Yes. Hope nobody mentions Kebab & Wine. *touches nose in a 'mum's the word'-type gesture*
  15. Don't leave keys in jacket pockets if you hang them behind the front door.

Worse still, if you're on holiday, it looks like there's no-one in. That's one of the reasons why postmen are instructed to push mail completely through the letterbox. Many times we've come back from a break to find a faded and limp pizza flyer hanging out for all to see.
  17. I had to chortle at this month's Southwark Life - there's an article inside asking us to suggest ways the council might save money.
  18. Have a Curve at the mo. Good for work emails, but so is the iPhone. The rest of it is a mess. Awful.
  19. Sorry, I meant M&S Simply Food

  21. SMacG is correct about Chopsticks. Mrs Kford heard from the SMBS boys that they will be turning it into a veggie/organic curry house. The stationers is to be a high-end second-hand clothes shop. Heard that the old offices are to be a Jack Wills White Stuff-type shop. I think I heard that on here though, so read into that what you will.

Good luck (tu)
  23. And always remember - if it's a private ticket, i.e. one not issued by the police or on behalf of a council, you can ignore it because it's an invoice, not a fine.
