  1. Oh my goodness. Poor Jane. We will be contributing. Thank you, Xanadustar, for bringing this to our attention.
  2. Ofsted reports are only meaningful when they are recent. Eliot Bank?s dates back to 2010. I?ve pm?d you.
  3. We just made the move to private for secondary, mainly as our daughter had been so unhappy in her very big primary school. We thought we needed to try something else. So far, so very good. For me it wasn?t about the facilities, it was more about the size of the school, level of noise, small class sizes... it?s perhaps unusual but thought I?d share my experience.
  4. Bobbly, last time I asked for an ambulance for someone who was behaving strangely (mental health / potentially drug induced) and putting his life at risk by walking too close to cars on a busy road, 999 was really short with me and told me they can?t just follow people around...
  5. Is this the guy who cycles carrying a big stick (window cleaning equipment)? I?m concerned about him as well as the harm he could potentially do to others. He can be very aggressive but responded well when my husband told him recently he should go home as it was about to rain. He?s obviously in need of medical care. I?ll call 999 next time.
  6. We dropped off at Ducks from East Dulwich for a year. Husband could never get to work on time as the roads are so congested. We then moved her to the school opposite our house for reception and it changed our lives.
  7. Please call Celia Hammond. 020 8691 2100 or 020 7474 8811. Thank you for looking out for this lovely little thing!
  8. Sorry to hear. Was there no-one around to help and challenge the behaviour?
  9. Hihi - i had a long chat last year with the Charter North admissions officer who explained that they use the September post-shakedown figure because the initial March catchment is so small and not representative of the true furthest place allocated etc... But perhaps they?ve changed how they do things.
  10. NorthDulMum, the distance Charter states on its website is the furthest place allocated as of September. The March distance will be much smaller.
  11. Sorry to hear, Richard. It looks like if you want your views to be listened to these days, you have to move to Dulwich Village.
  12. Chris, would you say you?re pretty quiet? If so, try making more noise...
  13. Please protect your mum and take her to be vaccinated.
  14. Personally if either customers or staff don?t wear masks, I just go somewhere else. We?re a year into the pandemic, I?m not going to have a discussion with a store manager about the necessity of masks at this stage, especially if they?re not wearing a mask themselves.
  15. My daughter?s loved working with Caroline Perret, who combines high expectations with a sunny personality. /forum/read.php?25,2093691,2093691#msg-2093691
  16. Thank you so much, everyone. It?s very useful to know. These houses seem good value for money.
  17. There is a rehoming department at Pets at Home at Bell Green and the Old Kent Road. Obviously phone them before making the trip.
  18. I?ve got my eyes on a 1970s townhouse in Sydenham. Looking for feedback on what it?s like living in one of those in terms of the space but also noise from neighbours. The walls seem pretty thin. Thank you.
  19. Move practice. It?s been like this for years. When I complained, they wrote to me saying it was because they had a lot of staff on maternity leave. These bloody women! I just don?t understand how they get away with this.
  20. Southwark Council didn?t alert us or put up a planning application notice on site when a developer put in an application for a rather ambitious build complete with basement back in April. They blamed Covid. We kicked up a right old fuss when we found out. I think it?s probably too late to get things stopped in your case but I?d still register my displeasure with the Council and your councillor if I were you. Good luck.
  21. Court Lane is usually a good bet as well.
  22. I have an ED friend with a child at Bexley Grammar, which she rates very highly. I?ve also heard of children going to St Olave?s Grammar in Orpington. We didn?t try because I thought they were all too far but it?s do-able.
  23. I?ve had a few big scares recently with those. Always with young kids who have no road sense. I just don?t understand the parents who let them do that...
  24. I went there for blood tests, very easy to social distance as the place was very quiet. Everyone?s required to wear a mask and there is hand gel at the entrance. I felt safe.
