  1. I tend to think it changes with age. And of course everyone is different. I have found many a time that I can find someone physically attractive from a far, but then they open their mouth and it all changes. So physical attraction for me is only part of what I find attractive in someone. Connecting with that person (spritually, intellectually or whatever) is a far more dominent factor. But it also goes without saying that there are some physical types that I would never find attractive, no matter how much I 'connect' with them.
  2. I have an annoying glitch when I look at group pm's. The pm is pushed below the ads which are to the right with just white space where the pm should sit. It's only for pms sent to multiple recipients. Singel recipient pms sit where they should.
  3. Tibby...make a formal complaint that that Police did not tell you until six days later that your car had been recovered (so that negates any daily storage fee) and that given you were the vicitm of an aggravated burglary, why should you have to pay to get your car back? Especially if the Police are not forensically examining it for evidence. We pay taxes for the Police to work on our behalf. It sounds to me as though it's in a pound along with cars seized for no insurance, tax etc and that there's no distinction between those whose car has ended up there through fault of their own and those who like you have done nothing wrong. I agree with writing to local MP, press etc. Try also BBC's Watchdog. See if it's a story they will cover. You can contact them via their website.
  4. What is the charge for? Recovery? Storage?
  5. Can we have a link to the report?
  6. You would not say that if you had a real infestation. Floorboards get eaten away until they snap. Ask Sue about the moth infestation she had over the summer and what the result would have been of not dealing with it. Given that homes DO get infested with these things to a degree that it destroys the fabric of the building and makes the occupants lives a misery...what do you suggest they do?
  7. It doesn't mean it will close at all. The local authority will now decide if they can fund it in full or part with help from other means, like the National Lottery etc.
  8. What I want to know is if she knitted it herself?
  9. I disagree Huggers.....I think people who are cruel to animals will be cruel whatever The Celebrity Jungle does. Animal cruelty has always existed. And every time you take a step, or you wipe a kitchen worktop, you are killing millions of living micro-organisms. Where do you draw the line?
  10. Well there is still plenty of coal to burn. Environmentally bad yes, but there's enough there to keep the generators going for a while.
  11. Aquarius...if your home was infested with cockroaches, what would you do?
  12. Consider yourself yellow carded VBC lol.....and the fine will be a Sambucca on Friday (just the one will do!)
  13. Thirded.... And I'll do my best to finally come to an EDF drinks......
  14. No lol......and that didn't stop people protesting anyway!
  15. That's a very simplistic and partisan view Sedgewick. And you forget there's a very good reason why protest was less under Labour. Labour did put money back into the NHS, Education, created the minimum wage etc.....things that were starved or non-existent under the Thatcher government. People have forgotton just how miserable things were in the 80's for many of the poorest and most vulnerable, or don;t know any better because they've been sheltered by privilege.
  16. But according to inside reports Breandan, Nick clegg never had any intention of forming coalition with Labour. It's been all over the papers for the last few days that Brown was kept tagged along only to facilitate the Tory deal. That's what politicians do. Btw I HAVE voted Lib Dem before because I'm one of those floating voters. Equally I can in turn respond with why is any criticism of Nick Clegg and his party always met with the Labour voter comment? Truth is anyway that Labour got way more votes than the Lib Dems so I think any indignation by Labour voters is justified. Essentially it only goes to reinforce that we live in a two party state and that the desperate Lib Dems, frozen out by that, will do anything to get a slice. Unfortunately it will be to their leaders downfall....and for me it is all about Nick Clegg....he has too little experience of consituent politics for the position he now holds.
  17. Oooh...you know that southwark LGBT were mailing that it was the 3rd Friday for ages. You might want to correct that with them for their future mailouts.
  18. Leona Lewis had the right plugs on the right shows, did all the right publicity and didn't offend anyone. That was possible because of Simon's connections to the big players in music publishing in America. You don't get to go on the Oprah show, or Ellen or any of those shows if there isn't something 'special' to sell and you haven't got big players backing you (athough I'd argue that under Simon's management Leona is bland). Rebecca isn't the finished article yet. She's still young and her confidence will come with age. A lot of the great crooners and divas that we revere so much were also painfully shy and 'boring' as performers.
  19. Cook it in the oven wrapped in foil. That will trap most of the evaporated fat and smells (if that's what you are worried about).
  20. It also transpires that Nick Clegg had panned to dump his parties pledge on tuition fees two months before the election as well. And the NUS are going to field candidates at the next general election in areas held by Lib Dems with large student populations including Nick Cleggs own constituency. Well between that and the unemployed of Sheffield that badly need the 3000 jobs that would have been created by the Sheffield forgemasters grant, my message to Nick would be 'enjoy it while you can'.
  21. I think you either have to be American or something really special to cut it out there. Success in America also means touring lots....it's a completely different operation to the UK and europe. You can't manufacture/ package a band/ act out there like you can here. And as you know, they also have many charts for different types of music...billboard is not the be all and end all of real musical and financial success in America like the top 40 is here. And to be fair, Matt is no Rufus Wainwright. If we look at things vocally. We saw how challenged most of the acts were getting to grips with what are complicated songs to sing on Saturday. The only act that coped with that complexity was Rebecca. That tells us all something about her range and skill as a vocalist. The other don't have that. Of course it needs more than that to be a superstar, but for me, she's the only one with a realistic hope of achieveing that. Matt, One Direction, Cher will alll satisfy a market in the UK in the short term and Simon will make money from them. And there's nothing wrong with that. I just think a disntinction has to be made between that and real success and lengevity.
  22. Birds, lizards and other animals eat live insects by the bucket loads. And if your house was infested with cockroaches, what would you do about it? In fact that's a good question to Aquarius. There are actually very few live insects eaten on the show. I eat more insects every time I open my mouth to breath when cycling.
  23. Give us an example of cruelty on the show AM. I don't see anything cruel to animals, just cruelty to the contestants. You can't ask for a show to be banned that you've never watched...that's just nonsense based on your own ignorance.
