  1. Which black England winger scored a hat trick of tries against Ireland in a match where supposedly Swing Low Sweet Chariot was heard at Twickenham for the first time. I have to say I was there and don't remember it but that's not surprising given the result! Naturally I'm hoping for something different today.
  2. Is it the Hawthornes?
  3. All three were against Spurs.
  4. red devil Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > Jamie Carragher... That's correct Red! Bonus for naming the team he conceded them to? I know it's not my turn.
  5. red devil Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > I'll go for Richard Dunne, Jamie Carragher and > long shot Gary Neville That's three guesses. One is right!
  6. No Mick. He is a current premiership player.
  7. 'This is EXACTLY the type of Bulldog Spirit that Won us 2 World Wars and 1 World Cup and I, for one, feel humble at doubting you' Make that 2 World Cups Thomas.........no Doubt one just slipped your mind! I seem to remember the rugby boys had an open topped bus tour when they came back. Made me think that if there were more of these buses then send the kids upstairs and if there is any rude behaviour the conductor can just press the ejector button to send seat and child over the top! Has anyone come up with this idea before?
  8. I'll assume I got the last question right. Who has scored only 3 career goals for his only club and also managed 3 own goals which were all scored against the same opponents?
  9. The only lion I've seen in England was in a zoo!

Some still do it. As for there being a change in 2001, where did that come from? Never heard an official declaration of a new name for the Lions. Perhaps the press become somewhat more PC than they were previously. I think it's simpler just to call them the Lions though why such an animal not native to our shores should get this honour beats me. Any suggestions as to what they should have been called?
  11. Don't worry about that David! I'm coming to get ya!
  12. Where did you get that one from that the name changed in 2001? If anything historically they were called simply The Lions or The British Isles. Given that Ireland has provided more captains than any other country perhaps they should be called the Irish Lions plus a few! The player was Karl Mullen.
  13. DPF don't you get it?

  16. Which was the first non UK international football team to beat England at home?

  18. That's correct. The Irish full back I mentioned was Hugo MacNeill.
  19. He is one of the two!
  20. If that was a penalty then I'd suggest that at most corner kicks there is a reason to award a penalty. For the life of me I don't know why football can't introduce the TMO (television match official). What exactly did the referee see when not awarding MU a goal yesterday? Has anyone said or seen what it was? Why not allow both teams X numbers of appeals to the TMO per game. It doesn't take anything away from rugby which I follow avidly.
  21. And I'd like to add that no one mentioned why ManU had a goal disallowed...............
  22. A clue........his first name is the same as that of an Irish full back in the 80's. A somewhat unusual name.
  23. He's not Irish
  24. Fraid not!
